Of course, I'm lost in my childhood past. 1) Patterson (my childhood hero) 2) Griffith (I had a dad who loved boxing along with uncles) I got to stay up late a youngster for the Gillette fights. 3) SRR never saw him live on TV but, with the passing of years, I realize he was the true numero uno!
Lloyd Marshall - the first RJJ in not just style, but also in a much better Era. Marshall proved that beating the best (in style) was just as easy as dropping a decision to them, such is the way in a tougher market. Pure brillance but he was by no means a solo artist, for there were many of them!!! JJW & Charles too. McAvoy & Gilroy, Britain's best middleweights.
Marquez by a mile - You couldnt ask for more from a boxer - Amazing combination puncher , fantastic technique , accuracy that a sniper would be proud of and all heart and balls...Only regrets for him are that he didnt get the fight with Hamed (who i think he woulda spanked) and Morales (we've all missed out on an all time great battle there) Honourable mention to Duran , Mathysse and domestically Cello Renda...always good value for money.
