Be there persona, antics or what they did have a go. For me in no particular order. -Chris Eubank snr- -Archie Moore- -James Toney -Floyd Patterson -Jack Johnson -Muhammad Ali
Eubank will obviously be the big mention. But I like Tyson, and the quiet humility of Patterson. Bruno’s innocence. And the ego-less Charley Burley.
Awsome man. Marvis was kool too. Would have loved to have met Dempsey but too young. By all accounts seemed like a great guy too.
Of the ones I have actually met personally: Buster Douglas, Julian Jackson, Bert Cooper, and Marvin Johnson stood out as some of the nicest people outside the ring. But, honestly, most of the boxers I met were pretty cool.
Tony Lopez was down to Earth, genuine guy. Calvin Grove good guy. Larry Holmes I believe to be a good decent man. Even if he comes off crude sometimes. He got a big heart. Mike Tyson today. Mike is doing well. I root for him today.
What I remember best and were talking around 91 I believe is that he was very kool but at the same time he oozed confidence and commanded respect. He was relaxed but you knew who the boss was and you just knew adleast if you had any common sense what lines not to cross. I dont mean that in a bad way either it's just common sense. He was one of those guys that IMO he could walk into a room anywhere and he had the respect of everyone in that room but he also gave it back. A real class act who had propper manners that he didnt forget
I have heard from a few people that Bert had his demons but was one of the most gentle kind people outside the ring.
