Who's your favourite boxing writer/reporter and why.

Personally I use Dan Rafael and a I also like Doug Fisher from the Ring.

    Who does everyone else use?

It would be good if people could name some lesser known journalists who are doing a great job covering the sport, that you'd recommend.

There are many, but McIllvaney is a real giant.
Tris Dixon at Boxing News is also very conscious of fans' needs and I even managed to have a chat with him when I phoned to ask if they could find out why Froch wasn't on Sky.
    I also like Colin Hart.

Dan Rafael? :rofl I would only go to him if I want his predictions on a fight...I would then put money on the opposite guy.

Can't remember who writes it but I like the reports at On The Beak

Of the more famous, I don't mind Montoya, but he comes across as a teenage douchebag when he posts on here, which is off-putting.

    Doogie Fischer currently.
As an all round sports journalist Hugh McIlvaney was a genius, but i've read far more of his work on football than boxing.

There are no good American boxing journalists at the moment. Most of them are mere gossip columnists, rumor-mongers with agendas, arrogant twits who don't understand the sport, or some combination of all 3.

He's good at getting the inside scoop on stuff like fight negotiations. His opinions and analysis of boxing are ****ing terrible, though, and he clearly thinks that everyone wants to hear them. Elie Seckbach is even worse, though, which is why I found it hilarious when Seckbach made that video bashing Rafael.
