The way Trevor Berbick snubbed Mike Tyson in their title fight was legendary. Tyson had been wearing all black and Berbick obviously knew this but because he was WBC champ Berbick got first choice of trunk colour. He chose black, so Tyson had to either change trunk colour or get fined for wearing the same coloured trunks as the champion. 2 rounds later and we have the most aesthetically pleasing KO of all time, in my opinion.
I liked Inoue's attire vs Donaire. I'd be completely if he had the colour of Donaire's shorts in his gloves. I love orange, and I love those shorts, worn by the Japanese Lesbian.
Prince Naseem Hamed had often quite fancy trunks, some examples: This content is protected This content is protected
Yes. Those trunks. What a clolour combo, especially matched with Duran's dark looks. I had a pair of Adidas Speziale in the same combo; khaki green with orange stripes and trim. Loved those trainers so much.
I'm a fan of the basics - the Everlast (or Tuf-Wear or G&S) trunks of the late sixties and seventies. Solid color with stripes and usually matching belt. I've always wondered how boxers choose their trunk colors. Some stick with one type - Ali's white and black, Holmes' white and red, Tyson's black. Hagler seemingly bought one pair of trunks and used them for years, like he wore them until they wore out before switching to a new pair. Others switched out colors for every bout - Holyfield, Jimmy Young, Tim Witherspoon. I wonder why? Joe Frazier's new trunks for every fight seemed very considered. He was very conscious about his look.
I would like to see you address him as a “Japanese lesbian” in person one of you fights for a living the other is on a sports forum.
I always liked the old school block colour shorts, usually with the fighters initials or a little logo of some kind. Examples being Sanchez in the Gomez and Nelson fights, and Fighting Harada throughout his career. I can't stand the current short trend with 100s of advertising logos. Basically, the 60s to 80s style.
