The Bute fight knocked me for six watching it live. Edge of the seat type affair. Remember how highly Bute was regarded at the time and most thought Froch was past it after the Ward fight. Almost everybody thought the result was a foregone conclusion. Then Froch obliterated him. Great fight / great win. https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/froch-v-bute-predictions.403559/
Groves 2 They act like it didnt happen now, but the "hardcores" in the brit forum were disgusting to Froch in the wake of the first fight and us froch fans had to put up with 6 months of BS from them. Loved it when froch sparked him cold in front of 80000 at wembley
It has to be Froch-Groves II for me. After the controversy of the first fight I wanted to see Froch knock the cocky young upstart into oblivion. I found out that my mother had passed away on the day of the fight. I watched the bout to help take my mind off the pain of that monumental loss. The knockout had me smiling slightly though my tears as Froch, one of my favorite fighters of all time, delivered the swan song performance of a lifetime. I hope this story illustrates the power that boxing can have on the true fans of our sport. You asked for our "personal" favorites, and that is mine.
Even Froch's earlier fights were great to watch before he got to world title level. I really enjoyed his top perfomances against Robin Reid, Tony Dodson, Sergey Tatevosyan, and his fight against Charles Adamu was a good , tough scrap.
it was a masterclass by ward....completely shut off froch and left him confused...that's boxing....ward putting on a clinic or mayweather giving someone a boxing lesson if you want to see men swinging their arms wildly go to your local bar.
I had to vote Bute. I was a big Froch fan already, but going into that fight I was sure Bute would win, I had that horrible feeling you get in the pit of your stomach when deep down you think your favorite fighter might get knocked out and brutally. Going from that feeling to the reality of the fight was fist pumpingly brilliant. I will never forget that fight.
