Name some fighters who you were impressed with in defeat, due to them showing tremendous amount of courage, guts and bravado till the end. One of mine is Iran Barkley against James Toney. He was thoroughly outclassed & battered every round, but nonetheless he kept constantly coming forward while attacking the body - never giving up. He even argued with his trainer Eddie Mustafa Muhammad when he mercifully threw in the towel after both his eyes were closed.
Lupe Pintor against Wilfredo Gomez is one I always think of - he fought brilliantly off the ropes, came close to stopping Gomez in the 12th after taking a beating in the same round and just showed tremendous heart the whole way through.
Muhammad Ali - Joe Frazier 1971 Joe Frazier - Muhammad Ali 1975 Sugar Ray Leonard - Roberto Duran 1980
Marciano vs. Walcott I Frazier vs. Ali I Foreman vs. Frazier I Foreman vs. Lyle Holmes vs. Norton Arguello vs. Escalera I Mercer vs. Cooper
Corrales vs. Castillo I Casamayor vs. Corrales I Juan Manuel Marquez vs. Juan Diaz I Morales vs. Jesus Chavez (torn rotator cuff) Anthony Joshua vs. Wladimir Klitschko Sugar Ray Leonard vs. Thomas Hearns Shane Mosely vs. Oscar De La Hoya I
Groves v Froch 1. Groves battered Froch who was saved by his freakishly iron chin and an early stoppage (although I accept Groves was fading). It was tremendous the way the relatively inexperienced Groves took the fight to Froch.
V Klitschko vs Lewis W Klitschko vs Joshua Frazier vs Ali III Castillo vs Corrales Tarver vs Jones I Porter vs Spence I know it was a Draw but Marquez vs Pacquiao I
My favorite is probably a Barkley fight too haha. Barkley vs Duran. 2 of my favorites and I thought Barkley deserved the win. Also fond of Tua's performance against Ibeabuchi, Erik Morales performances in his losses to Barerra, Brewsters loss to Liakhovich, and Norton's loss to Holmes.
