What are your favourite potential fights for each weight in your opinion? (I don't know much about Bantamweight and below so won't include them in my list). My favourites are: HW - AJ v Wilder: everything about the fight just seems exciting. Too tall and huge punchers with aggressive styles. Cruiser - Usyk v Gassiev: Usyk is very technical and Gassiev is very powerful, interesting matchup Light HW - Gvozdyk v Beterbiev: This was a tough one but think this fight just edges it for me. The technical work of Gvozdyk & the ridiculous power of Beterbiev Super middle - Groves v Degale II: Since Groves v Eubank isn't really a potential fight cos it's happening, I'd go with the rematch of Degale and groves Middle - Canelo v GGG II: Hopefully we see this sooner rather than later because the first fight was very exciting imo Super welter - Cotto v Charlo: I like Lara but even I'll admit he's not the most entertaining to watch whereas I think this could be an entertaining fight Welter - Crawford v Spence: This is my favourite potential fight in all boxing and I think both would be pretty happy to unify if Crawford can beat Horn Jr Welter - No fights really interest me here which is a shame cos of the titles that are now available. Lightweight - Garcia v Linares: I included Garcia here rather than 140 due to this fight. Good matchup of styles and another one I'm desperate to see Super feather - Farmer v Davis: I like Loma but this fight is one I'm eager to see if Farmer can win his title Feather - Selby v Frampton: Too many good fights in this weight but this one slightly edges it for me since I'm from UK, Think it could be quite a big event if promoted properly Super bantam - not many really interest me, probably not seen enough of them tbh Anyone who does know a lot about Bantam and below I'll be interested to see what fights you come up with so I can get to know some of the boxers!
Joshua/Wilder - Speaks for itself. Guaranteed KO. Povetkin/Ortiz both juiced to the teeth as co-main event. Usyk/Gassiev - Best boxer in the division vs. best pressure fighter in the division. A lot of intrigue here, does Usyk have enough pop to keep Gassiev honest, can Gassiev's increasingly notorious liver shot slow down the slick mover? This is probably the fight I want to see most in all of boxing. Bivol/Gvozdyk - The two guys I think are the most naturally special in the division. Let's set up a trilogy for the ages. Lot of honourable mentions for 175 though. Kovalev/Beterbiev, Barrera/Jack, Adonis/Anybody with a pulse. Groves/Eubank Jr - Glad this isn't a hypothetical. The pre-fight build up will be great and they each have an exciting style and strengths that line up with the other's weaknesses. Golovkin/Canelo II- No explanation needed, what is needed is a clean conclusion. Charlo/Hurd - Both big at the weight, both can make mistakes. Lara too boring, Cotto too old, Lubin too green. Spence/Thurman - De facto top 2 at 147. Want to see Crawford spank Horn and bring a belt to the table before fighting the winner of this fight. Taylor/Anybody - Pretty thin division at the moment but i think Taylor can win a title within the next 18 months with all the belts soon to be scattered. Linares/Mikey - Love Linares and would hate to see Mikey chin him but this is still the best fight at 135. Loma/Berchelt - Self explanatory, top two in the division. Santa Cruz/Frampton III - Let's settle this. Domestic clashes of Frampton/Selby and LSC/Valdez would be great too though. Rigo/Magdaleno - ... I guess? Burnett/Nery - Exciting unification. Tete's a lanky southpaw and could stink the place out. Inoue/Rungvisai - Can't believe you left this out. Higa/Nietes - Let's change the guard. WAR DAIGO Honestly can't remember the last fight I watched at 105/108lbs. Know sweet **** all about those divisions. Man I hope this thread gets more traction, I'd hate to have typed all this out for like 4 people to read...
