Floyd's check-hook against Hatton is pure artistry. Having to explain such a punch exists to Hatton fans=priceless
some great choices in here! another one i love is tysons uppercut in close after a hook to the body... he did it to jose ribalta perfectly
i never really heard of it as a "check hook" I just knew it as a perfectly time counter hook.... That punch is reallly hard to pull off against a sparring partner.... Against a good fighter, it must be near impossible, damn, floyd is a master.. :smoke to do it right you got to have your distance down PERFECT You have to have your timing down PERFECT you have to have your balance/stane PERFECt And you have to have good reflexes/speed to catch them My god, floyd is a monster :bart
Now: either cotto's left hook to the body or izzy's left hook upstairs. All time: too many but probably Smokin Joe's lunging hook upstairs.
tyson's hook to the body then the uppercut was superb to watch especially as he shifted his feet quickly to land the second punch. my favourite punch of all time is ray robinson's left hook on gene "i didn't think i could be knocked" fullmer
All Time - Frazier left hooks, Arguello's right cross, JJC left hook to the body, Barrera's hook/uppercut hybrid, Hearn's right cross, Ruddock's "smash" was cool when it happened but not a thing of beauty like the others. Currently - Tua's left hook, Linares right cross is pretty sweet, JMM's uppercut's from the outside, SSM left hook he laid out Vargas and Mayorga with, Wlad's jab, Pac's left cross, Cotto left hook to the body.
nah Manila Ice was what they named his right hook when he KO'd Morales in their second fight ...I think more fighters should name their punches, Manila Ice sounds cool like it's some special move from street fighter or something.
