Well, we ALL saw what Tyson did.

With all due respect to Hide and Bentt, their "world title fight" didn't mean much to the boxing world at large, and certainly not to the average man in the street.
Their pre-fight brawl on the grass got more attention, and the post-fight hospitalization and surgery on Bentt's head.
Man, that's a treble of scandal in one fight !
    :good

Has to be Tyson-Frazier. I loved the uppercut he threw to ko Marvis. It was a thing of beauty.

I have to say it was also my favorite Tyson fight after all it lasted long enough that the ticket was worth the price. The KO was just marvelous. Thomas came to fight and he was a good solid Heavyweight at the time. Good win over a Good fighter. IMO one of Tyson's better wins.

It's ahrd to pick just one Tyson fight as your favourite, but I'm going to say Tyson-Biggs. Although he wasn't that experienced as a pro, Biggs was undefeated & was expected to cause Mike problems.

Biggs was successful for the first round, sticking to his game plan, but I remember Ray Leonard commentating & saying how he couldn't believe how quick Tyson got to Biggs & made Tyrell fight Tyson's kind of bout.

Tyson's body-shots are the real highlight of the fight for me. Mike constantly attacked the body, never even thinking about Biggs cut eye. Biggs mid-section received a battering. Mike broke him down & appeared to be getting better, faster & stronger as the bout went on.

From about the third, fourth round, I reckon Tyson could have finished the bout if he wanted to, but he chose to punish Biggs.

Highly competent & varied performance by Tyson.

Fine post and some valid points there. It's definitely one of Tyson's best three or four career wins. Pinklon was there to fight as well and he put up a fine performance; being well in it before being caught with a chilling, vintage left hook from hell. A barrage of 14 or 15 unanswered punches later ended matters in abrupt fashion. Thomas was fading slightly but as you say definitely still on of the best challengers out there at the time.

    Tyson's best 6 wins IMO:

    1. Berbick (Highly economical yet utterly devestating performance. Flogging a pretty good, and very durable fighter in the process).

    2. Spinks (Whatever the case regarding Spinks being "intimidated" or otherwise- surely even if so Tyson should get credit? Perpetual motion destruction blowout of a fighter wjho'd never been floored nor stopped prior in his career).

    3. Thomas (Tough test against a skilled and tough boxer, a close call on the cards until a cracking shot from Tyson turned the fight on it's head).

    4. Holmes (Young or old nobody else ever beat Holmes in that fashion. Frightening offensive barrages and well placed power shots sent Larry all over the ring but it took the kitchen sink to keep him down).

    5. Ruddock II (High octane slugfest against a dangerous fighter with chilling one punch power. Showed that he could take it as well as dish it out and if anything this fight proved his chin as very solid indeed and that he could be extremely persistent when in the correct frame of mind).

    6. Biggs (A dominating blitz of attack to the body and upstairs wore Biggs down to a standstill. One of the most brutal performances ever saw from Tyson: in the 7th he wobbled Biggs again and tore through him towards the ropes; down Biggs went, bloodied and dazed. The ref allowed to continue, Tyson rushes back in then a few body punches later and a vicious left hook to the body later and it's all over. Fight stopped.)

HM's: Bruno II, Tubbs, Williams and Golota (if you call that a proper win).
