    Fair shout.

I wouldn't class Muhammad Ali as a feather fisted though, he just preffered to fight at range and wear down his opponents rather than sit down on his punches. It was more an accumlation of speed, but he had Terrell all over the place, and knocked down Williams several hundred times in their fight. Ali wasn't a monsterous hitter, but he wasn't feather-fisted.

Pernell Whitaker. Not a lot of knockouts in his career, but as evidenced by his highlight reel on Youtube, when the guy sat down on his punches he could bang.

Whoa! That's weird. I must be more tired than I thought!:scaredas:

Sorry bout that. Barrera knocked down Marquez.

In that case, yeah, I can't recall too many moments where Marquez punching power seemed terribly devastating, although the KO of Jaca was good.

I mean, he's not feather-fisted at all, though. I think he just doesn't gun for KO's.

He's got a **** load of TKO's but that doesn't equate to power. I haven't seen a young Joe Calzaghe so I couldn't say. Apparently he only has 2 "KO's", but as of now, yes he is featherfisted.

Marquez has great technique and timing but im sure he is not regarded as a power puncher! his skills and accuracy really delivers knock down in his fights not really his power if you no what i mean?

Calslappy isn't feather-fisted. He probably has fairly heavy hands, so he can mix in a lot of slaps with his more powerful shots and still do some damage.

These guys being named like Ali, Marquez, even Whitaker, aren't feather-fisted. Whitaker wasn't too powerful but he did have a powerful left hand when he put leverage behind it.

If you want to look at an ATG who was feather-fisted, look no farther than Slapsie Maxie Rosenbloom.

I haven't said Juan Manuel Marquez is power puncher, I just refuse to believe a man with 35 knockouts, who is capable of putting Pacman on wobbly legs, is feather fisted.

Yeah, at the moment it has to be him. Calderon also comes into the mix.

wobbled? maybe in the 8th... but definitely not too hurt. that punch was a liver/kidney shot that pac still took well. if that was any other fighter, that punch could've put him down ala johnny gonzales. the great thing is that after this great round by marquez, pac showed his fighting heart and came storming back to take rounds 9, 10 and 11 to win the fight.

but he isnt really known for his fists of stone, marquez is not known for being this one punch fighter who lands big punchs, his speed and timing are the effective weapons which he uses! im saying that he is not regarded as a powerfull puncher more of a technical fighter,

what do u mean when you say feather fisted?

jmm is definitely not feather-fisted but he isn't a power puncher either. his punches are amplified by his great, textbook technique and his great timing in catching his opponents off-balanced when throwing his counters.

A feather-fisted fighter to me at least is a fighter who sits down on his punches and still gets no respect off his opponents. I'll clarify because it seems as though you failed to understand what I'm saying again. Marquez is by stretch of the imagination a huge big puncher. But he isn't feather-fisted either.

wobbled? maybe in the 8th... but definitely not too hurt. that punch was a liver/kidney shot that pac still took well. if that was any other fighter, that punch could've put him down ala johnny gonzales. the great thing is that after this great round by marquez, pac showed his fighting heart and came storming back to take rounds 9, 10 and 11 to win the fight.

Go watch the fight again. Late in the second round I believe, Pacman was on wobbly legs for about a second. The punch hurt him.

Again, I never said he had Pacman too hurt, but he did have Pacman on unsteady legs. Like I say, go watch the fight again.

well, i guess pac wasn't that hurt since he put jmm on his back in the very next round. pac also had jmm hurt in about 3-4 other occasions during the fight. there are gifs of these on other threads.

    :patsch Obviously a Pacman fan.

Your missing the point, son. Don't get too defensive.

I felt your boy lost both fights, but that is for a different discussion. Fact is, Pacman hurt Marquez, and Marquez hurt Pacman also.
