    1892 - The longest boxing match in history
    At Granite City,Illinois, USA, professional boxers Harry Sharpe and Frank Crosby took part in the longest boxing match fought under modern rules. Sharpe won the bout, which lasted more than five hours, by knockout in the 77th round. According to news reports, the referee of the match passed out in the 65th round, leaving the remaining rounds of the match unrefereed.
