@Rumsfeld Updated my list and finally finished the decades 2010s, 2000s, 1990s, 1980s, i will try and finish off the rest of the decades before the deadline.
Question for @Rumsfeld — rules say at least 10 per decade up to 25 … are we free to have 10 in some decades and more than 10 in others? Or if we have, say, only 10 for the 1900 decade then we can’t go 25 for the 1970s (where in my case the more recent times I have more confidence in my deeper picks to rank)?
You can mix it up however you like as long as you have no fewer than 10 and no more than 25 for whichever decades you choose to participate. And you can choose whatever decades you want. For random example, you can have 10 for the 1910s, 17 for the 1940s, 25 for the 1970s, and 10 for the 1990s. Or however you choose to break it down. As long as someone has 10 names for a given decade, those names will be logged for that particular decade.
Great effort. Just so you know, you've only listed 9 names for the 50's, missing out number 7. The most glaring difference between our lists is your ranking of Dempsey at no. 1 in the 20's, whilst he doesn't make my top 25 for that decade. He went 6-2 in the 20's & I feel there were 25 fighters with deeper bodies of work in that decade. Certainly it's difficult for me to see Dempsey above Greb based on what each fighter did in the 20's. Dempsey's 6 x wins in the decade are Jack Sharkey, Tommy Gibbons, Billy Miske, Luis Firpo, Georges Carpentier and Bill Brennan. Greb went 114-8-5 in the decade and his wins include - Tommy Gibbons x 2, Tommy Loughran x 4, Jimmy Delaney x 3, Maxie Rosenbloom, Mickey Walker, Jimmy Slattery, 17.5lbs heavier Kid Norfolk, Gene Tunney, 24lbs heavier Charley Weinhert, Jeff Smith x 3, Clay Turner x 2, Bob Moha x 3, Johnny Wilson x 2, 8lbs heavier Gunboat Smith, Ted Moore x 2, Tiger Flowers, Lou Bogash and Bryan Downey. Which is absurd. I'm curious, have you used criteria other than evaluating the body of work of the decade in question? e.g. historical significance, or just simply how good you suspect the fighters were at their peak point in that decade? Hope you don't mind the question, no criticism intended, just curious.

I hope @Rumsfeld doesn’t mind the comment potentially clogging up the thread. I was seriously debating putting Mike Tyson top of the 80s. I mean he transcended the sport arguably to the levels of Ali and gave it a rebirth of sorts to the masses. He was a pop culture legend. His bouts were more anticipated than anything I have experienced in the sport since. (I’m just a young whippersnapper in these parts being a young 40). But his achievements although spectacular (youngest HW champion of all time, most first round KOs as a HW at the time I think), just fell short of what others achieved throughout the 80s. I would have no disputes or arguments for MT being named the greatest boxer of the 80s.
Well, he was unbeaten in the 80s and unified all the HW belts, so his achievements trump anyone else's in the 80s. Overall, other ATG's from the 80s, like Hagler, Duran etc had better careers, but if we only evaluate the 80s, Tyson is king. Also, as you pointed out, he was the biggest draw in boxing, that's also part of greatness.
@Rumsfeld I managed to fill up all the lists up until the 1930s, but i also added a few more names to 1930s-1890s aswell. I may try and finish those era's before the deadline, but i'm not sure i'm quite knowledgeable enough on those eras to fill an entire list. But for now 2010 to 1940s is completed, and just for reference my list is on page 1 cheers.
Awesome! In all likelihood, I'm going to need to push this deadline back. I thought I'd have a lot of extra time right around New Year, but that does not look to be the case. In the meantime, I hope everyone continues submitting lists and amending that which needs amending. Cheers!
