    Interesting super middleweight crossroads match-up.

"The Classic" hit a skid in the middle of his prime, losing a rematch with Felix Sturm to lose the WBA title and then getting stopped by Groves in an unsuccessful bid to reclaim it. Since then, while outside the championship picture, Fedor has fared better than his brother Dmitrii (on a rapidly worsening slump now of 1-4-1, and showing bad form even before that started), going 6-0 with four stoppages (although he did arguably in the midst of that get a gift split decision over French spoiler Nadjib Mohammedi).

Maderna started off 2018 on a high note, defeating Martin Fidel Ríos in a domestic rematch for the Argentinian national SMW title. He would then get routed in September by José Olavides Uzcátegui, getting shut out IMO as Bolivita used him for a tuneup ahead of his battle with Caleb Plant.

Chudinov is ranked #6 at 168 pounds by the WBC & IBF, and #3 by the WBA. Maderna is currently not ranked by any major org.

I'd favor Chudinov, unless he is having an off night, in which case he could get outworked.

The co-feature pits Magomed Alievich Madiev against southpaw countryman Evgeny Aleksandrovich Terentiev for the vacant Russian middleweight title.

Not sure how much of a distraction this will be for him, but Fedor's brother was humiliatingly stopped in 2 by French novice Louis Toutin yesterday...

    Fairly interesting undercard all-around...

Vaginak Grishaevich "The Phoenix" Tamrazyan will test his recent hot streak by serving as the first major step up in class for Islam Vakhaevich "The Sniper" Edisultanov in a tussle for the Russian 154lb title.

A couple of recognizable name journeymen will also be in with young unbeaten (and vastly less experienced) prospects: Konstantin Yurievich "The Volga Cossack" Piternov taking on Magomedmurad Islamovich Arslanbekov in just his sophomore pro effort, while Kevin Blue "Kingpin" Johnson is scheduled for ten rounds against 7-0 Shigabudin Alievich Aliev.

Chudinov and Maderna both made weight bang on, 168lbs.

Broadcast starts at 10AM EST on Матч Боец, probably showing the whole card which features some decent prospects. Shigabudin Aliev faces the Kevin Johnson test, and it’ll be fun to see Shakhabas in his first real test against Mulovhedzi

Ah, good looking out...I'm going to be at work and would otherwise have been a few hours late getting the RBR up had you not posted this.

do you know about when the main event should be?

There's a question of me working until either 2 or 3:30pm EST (9 or 10:30pm Moscow)...if the latter I'd like to know if seeing Chudinov vs. Maderna is at least still in the cards for me, if not the bulk of the undercard.

Scheduled to be a five hour broadcast so I would guess probably around 9:30PM Moscow time but it’s hard to predict Russian shows. They’ve gone way over their time slot before. I would probably guess between 9:30PM and 10PM but it could be sooner depending on Makhmudov and Edisultanov (I think they’re the only ones with chances at ending their bouts early amongst the top 4 undercard bouts)
