It's pretty well known that I love long shots, and I'm usually never shocked when they go awry, that usually only applies to Fury beating Klitschko or Bellew beating Makabu. Annoyed yes, delusional no. But fine, keep on devaluing Tyson Fury's best win. I mean, it's so shameful to be beaten by the best heavyweight on the planet, who was in hyper aggressive killing machine mode that night.

And here we are critiquing the debut of a 40 year old long time fight vet who was out of shape and probably took the fight as an opportunity to earn some dough as well as get back in the ring. But yeah. Williams is LONG past the point where he should be in the ring. We're talking north of a decade now.

I didn’t watch the fight as I can’t bring myself to watch Danny get beat up anymore. Spoke to him earlier and he was relaxed and chilling out. Hope this doesn’t go on for much longer

So you agree worst debut ever? As someone who likes boxing I just can’t find a way to condone this sort of thing.
I wouldn’t call that a critique I wouldn’t waste my time with that.

It’s a freak show. I’m all in for freak shows, all of the time.
Martinez-De La Hoya? Dreadful. Both totally finished fighters. Embarrassing for the sport. But I’ll watch that ****.
This old dude against Haye? Similar sentiments.
    Maidana-McGregor? Ditto.

No because the guy has no serious prospects as a pro boxer. He's 40 years old. I do wish they would have gotten someone other than Williams but what are you going to do? He's a name and willing to get beat up. That's boxing for you.

Really hope he's going to be OK if this is true. Even though the ref's stoppage seemed a bit premature at the time, I didn't have a problem with it because Sadiq had pushed himself to the limit and he wilted quite dramatically under that final assault from Chudinov and he just didn't have anything left and I think the ref could see he was done and a sitting target.

'British boxer Umar Sadiq 'hospitalised' after defeat to Fyodor Chudinov, report claims

Sadiq was defeated by technical knockout in Khimki, near Moscow, with reports from Russia claiming he fell ill afterwards and was coughing up blood

British boxer Umar Sadiq has been hospitalised after falling ill following his defeat to Fyodor Chudinov, according to reports from Russia.

Sadiq reportedly began to cough up blood after his defeat by technical knockout, having needed an oxygen mask straight after the fight in Khimki, near Moscow.

The 32-year-old super middleweight was disorientated following his defeat and was given immediate medical assistance by doctors, according to TASS.

The Russian publication says an ambulance was then called after he fell ill during routine doping control.

"Umar was hospitalized," a source was quoted as saying, with the report adding that the boxer began to "cough up blood".

Sadiq's defeat, 40 seconds into round 12 of the WBA gold belt bout, was his second in a 12-fight career so far.

The Ilford boxer, who was born in Nigeria, counts six knockouts among his 10 professional wins, and has been gearing up for British title shot against Lerrone Richards.

Sadiq agreed to the fight 1,800 miles from home at short notice, and put in a fearless performance against the Russian WBA champion, according to British Boxing News.
