sorry to hijack thread, but does anyone know Mark Colemans enterance music at last weeks ufc against Shogun. thanks in advance
:huh Fedor only had a 4 week camp, find that hard to believe. Not saying you're wrong but that isn't enough time. :deal
Well he was in Thailand shooting that movie until the middle of December and for the last two weeks he's been jetting to and from the US promoting the fight. So thats 4-5 weeks of serious isolated training. Add in the usual celebrations and relaxtion of Christmas and New Year then thats another bit of time cut away. Unless Fedor was having secret training in Thailand, then he can't have had too much time to train.
I guess AA will have a puncher's slim chance the first few minutes but if he doesnt land some huge punch Fedor doesnt see coming I just can't see him really having any chance. With AA's chin this could be another 36 second beating.
AA did Boxing with Roach when he should of did ground work with some vetern guys. He is way of base, boxing and mma are two totally different things and he will find out that tonight.:good
You think Roach's comments about Fedor's 'lack of technique' was Roach thinking he can get into Fedor's head and goad him into a stand up war? Would it make a difference?
Fedor knows his bread and butter isnt his standup. Its his GnP and his submisson game. He only uses his striking to get his opponent to the mat so they can be subbed or pounded into submission. Arlovskis boxing wont make a blind bit of diffrence.Too much fuss has been made about it.
Arlovski would have a better chance in a cage, it's bigger. He is fast on his feet and will try and jab and backpeddle and circle away from Fedor to avoid the take down, then I see him trying to plant and fire off a counter right hand to try and catch him. In a ring he will run out of room for this plan though.
No doubt. My point was that people are acting as if Arlovski would become helpless if it went to the ground. I don't think that's the case. I am not saying that AA should be the favorite, or that he can't be submitted. However, I think that he has much more than a punchers chance of winning, and I think that he has better ground skills than he is being given credit for. If Cro-Cop can survive an entire fight with Fedor without being submitted on the ground... I really don't think that it's far fetched to think that Arlovski could as well. I think that this fight could end any number of ways. Of course Fedor is the favorite, and hurting Arlovski with strikes and transitioning to a submission seems to be the most likely outcome. However, I think that it is entirely possible that Arlovski beats Fedor on the feet, and could get by on the ground enough to get it back to their feet. Of course Fedor could come out and blast Arlovski out... on the other hand I wouldn't be shocked if Fedor was attacking with his wild lunging attack, and Arlovski countered him with a nasty uppercut and put Fedor down either.
