If Barnett beats Fedor...You can bet 1000s and 1000s of mma fans will proclaim **** like: "Fedor was always overrated" "never fought any competition" "arlovski got owne by brett in 11 secs & sylvia in 9...he kept avoiding real competition"... etc...etc...etc.. Then of course , forums will be bombared with threads like "barnett vs lesnar" , "barnett vs tyson" "barnett vs mercer" hahahahaha...
Fedor has to lose sometime and I think Barnett has the tools to do it, if he can get Fedor on the ground he can do damage there. It's a tough test for Fedor this one.
I've been saying the same thing since the fight was made. Barnett is one of the most improved fighters in mma at the moment. he was a solid 16-1 at one time in his career fighting the likes of pedro rizzo, semmy schilt, stopping randy couture with punches, beating legends like dan severn and good fighters like yuki kondo. however, he has imrpved alot since then, he has that edge. he avenged his worst loss from pedro rizzo by ko with punches. barnett has that edge a young prospect has. This really is a dangerous fight for fedor. If fedor destroys this guy, then it is a feat imo. Cant wait.
Barnett is a real threat. This is going to be a great fight. Fedor will have to go a few rounds for the first time in years.
Barnett knows his submissions & wrestling..and he's big too. and endurant. I think Fedor will win this one by UD or late submission in the 2nd or 3rd round. But if Barnett pulls it off....he'll be the first in the history of the sport who's been able to beat both emelianenko brothers.
