Fedor/Brock double standard

    +1 as well. It's the same that I don't rank Melendez over BJ Penn even after Penn lost to Edgar. I mean, in boxing if Floyd lost his next fight and Margarito won his next fight I would still also rank Floyd over Margarito. Then again, I think I am a purist in the sense that I think you must rank Werdum #1 right now because he just beat the champion.

    At this level, however, performance is going to start mattering a lot more. Fedor can not stay ranked over Brock if he fights inferior opposition to Brock any longer. It's going to be tough for him to get lots of high level comp for any long period of time if he doesn't figure something out (Werdum rematch, Overeem and then...?)

    Also, performance is going to matter a lot more when it comes to Fedor's relative rank. Just winning isn't going to be enough to stay ahead of Brock, he is going to need to win as or more impressively than Brock. imo.
