Yakovenko down near the end of round three on a shot behind his short, forward-combed tonsure/mohawk.

What a path to Klitschko. :-(

Coming off the Pulev loss: massively fat Perk, fat old and shot Tua, morbidly obese Welliver, and doughy Fury.

Average weight of those four: 264.25lbs

    Average height: 191cm (6'2")

    Average BMI: 33.6, decidedly obese

That will be some rude awakening getting in with the extremely fit champ after that run.

  5. I'm thinking Ustinov may seriously damage Welliver

I stopped paying attention to do some actual work - did Rocky Yaravenko make it the distance?

Just one person has ever stopped him before today, in 26 bouts - and that is Ruslan Provodnikov. (while those failing to get the job done include former WBA interim welter champ Yuri Nuzhnenko as well as Konstantin Ponomarev and Felix Diaz, both currently ranked and unbeaten)

Fair play to Sharonov if he became #2.

Ustinov is not getting a title shot unless the Russians pay Wlad a ton to come to Moscow and have a voluntary.

Ustinov would be a good fight for Povetkin though, now that Glazkov is eyeing Cunningham.

It would have to be a voluntary defense, you'd think, unless he can string together some miracle run to get ranked as mandatory (and not just in a single org) before Wlad retires.

In reality he is probably further away from being selected for a voluntary defense than Shannon Briggs, despite being a more credible opponent (not that Ustinov is all that credible a challenge)

...but who knows? Hrunov is a wheeler and dealer and has been around for a while - and K2 may want to punish Ustinov for their acrimonious split (having taken him under their wing and probably treating him fairly, in their view) as badly as he wants to get revenge on them and their bungling of his career in the flesh.

Fury ducked Ustinov and due to that Fury is now Klitschko's mando. But Ustinov isn't good enough to fight Klitschko? Something doesn't add up.

Isa Akberbaev vs. Ihar Karavae, ? rounds @ cruiserweight

(this isn't listed on Boxrec; I had to spent the last few minutes transliterating both names from Cyrillic after snapping a screenshot of the ring intro graphic...)
