Actually wrong again, the only org against the WAMMA concept was the UFC. WAMMA was meant to unify all MMA orgs, the ranking, the rules and the belt. Pride, Dream, Strikeforce and M1 were all for WAMMA. This upcoming Fedor fight with Werdum has Fedor's WAMMA belt on the line (recognised by Strikeforce and M1). Dream-M1-Strikeforce are all trying to set up fights between its champions. This is the best way to go about making MMA a legit sport and not just tolerated.
M1 started in 1997. Vadim and his Red Devil sports drink was previously a sponsor to Mix-fight in Russia. The officials there asked him if he wanted to start the org and to shift through Russian talents. Up to this day, M1-Global's main goal is to look for new up and coming fighters and provide them with the oportunity. For them its not about signing the fighter, they are more than happy to have other orgs pick up their new fighters. M1 has many shows around the world, they have the M1-Challenge, M1-Selection, M1-Breakthrough and even M1-Beyond the Challenge. [yt]cfD6ZXmonKU[/yt] Money wise, these M1 guys are highly successful already, individually the owners of M1-Global are far richer than Fertita and Dana. The Vadim has other businesses around the world, the VP of M1 is also one of the elite Russian billionaires (the guy bought his own island nfor petes sake).

Its easy to have a monopoly i.e. the NFL when no one else plays it at a competitive level. MMA however does have competitive guys from around the global. Its impossible for the UFC to have global coverage. Look at the UFC HW, they are only really good because they are known, other than that Lesnar and co are unproven and green.
Because the PGA doesnt have a monopoly and actually works with others. The PGA doesnt run the major golf tournaments or the Ryder Cup. [ame]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PGA_Tour[/ame] The PGA Tour operates the following three tours, all of which are primarily contested in the U.S.: - PGA Tour, the top tour - Canada, Mexico, and the U.S. possession of Puerto Rico host one event each year - Champions Tour - for golfers age 50 and over - Nationwide Tour - a developmental tour
Lol dangerous. Not only is Fedor the best MMA fighter, he is also a close friend with Putin. Imagine if Fedor won the Russian presidency.......i would seriously lold if Fedor turned up to Dana's place backed up by Russia's best Spetsnaz and military hardware.
Imagine if Bill Gates talked this way to journalists. Dana talks like this to Fedor all the time, I dont blame Fedor for not working with Dana/UFC. [yt]lloCUGsjuBI[/yt]
Randy wanted to fight Fedor, he chased Fedor outside the UFC, Fedor accepted and the event was going to happen. The UFC bought in their lawyers and dragged Randy back into the UFC kicking and screaming. Aparently the championships clause prevented Randy from fighting the best.
All hail monaroCountry!! Some serious ownage there dude! You just tore AJAX and Pimpwhatever a new one! Daaaaaaaang! You're officially my favourite poster in the MMA forum!
You know your so right the best thing to happen to mma would for it to become just like boxing and have alphabet soup so there is no monopoly.:good It makes so much sense to have numerous champions all not fighting each other. Do you think Dana would let Haye fight Fraudly if he was in the UFC?
Great efforts/postings monaroCountry. Thanks for the time you have taken. You should read how that pimpTHEsystem guy continually insists how American folkstyle wrestlers are so great, despite the FACT that they routinely get dominated under International freestyle rules. A typical Ameri-centric jingoist who cannot see beyond his own rigid World view.
