TS YOU'RE AN IDIOT...... he outstruck a prime crocop who a couple of years prior to meeting fedor was beating the **** out of bonjasky and aerts in K1... [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9B1W1m_OYvQ[/ame]
Ok, let's see you give examples of other success with that style in mma, let alone against a striker of Filipovic's calibre. The closest one is probably Igor.
News FLASH: Not every boxer fights like Abraham who has little boxing skills. And Tyson was 10 times the athlete Fedor is and could move his head and body much faster.
I figured his post would strike a nerve with you, more accurately your kind. Yeah sure; "Abraham has little boxing skills". "Tyson was 10 times the athlete Fedor is". How dare anyone suggest the all mighty Ali, Tyson and Foreman would potentially lose a fight against a Russian. atsch The current state of the fight game must be very painfull for you. Oh Wait! I almost forgot.... All of the best combat sport fighters are in the NBA/NFL or my personal favorite......American prisons!
You know nothing about boxing and boxing technique. You know nothing about MMA and you are not capable of judging athletic abilities.
Fedors technique is excellent for him, he knows what he does in the ring to win fights. Suggesting boxing techniques for Fedor is just bogus, its like telling Roy Jones to fight more conventional....it works for him, and it has been working for him for years. There is no right or wrong here because each individual makes/adjusts the technique to suit them better. here is what Fedor said before Arlowski fight: "I know that I don't have a perfect boxing style, and I know certain flaws that I have, and I'll work on those and so it is what it is," Emelianenko said. "Andrei is very quick on his feet. "But we are not boxing, and we are not fighting Sambo. We are fighting in MMA. The beauty of MMA is that every fighter has his own unique style and preferences. It is not a beauty contest."
If losing 10% of a fight without taking any damage that is particuarly serious means you are having a bad fight, Anderson Silva has a bad fight every time he steps into the cage. How many great fighters, of all sorts, take the first 2 min to size up and time? Nearly every Muay Thai fighter does it for the whole first round; Hopkins usually does it the first 3-4 rounds. Fedor basically was cautious, went forward, was a bit of back and forth, then sparked him; pretty run of the mill.
It's got nothing to do with being in boxing stance. It's got to do with having good balance. Good balance allows you to defend and attack at your best as you are always in optimum position. His brain is his best attribute. His punches are huge, his technique is terrible. Foreman had huge punching power and was durable like Fedor. Doesn't mean his punching technique is right because he wins with it. Fedor's grappling is sublime. His stand up could be MUCH better. I know the majority of people support his stand up but I'll never yield on this. I see what I see. What I see is terrible but I still love him.
i would CONCLUSIVELY argue that fedor waz slipping AA's punchez which slowly and gradually allowed fedor the time he required to TIME AA and then after that TIME i would argue that fedor knocked AA out with one single shot to hiz jaw if your perception is that AA waz getting the better of fedor standing it would obviously have to be BEFORE the point that while standing fedor knocked AA CONCLUSIVELY out if thatz your perception i agree with you that until that POINT AA waz getting the better of fedor the POINT im makin is that while AA waz indeed getting the better of fedor, fedor waz fightin more relaxed and calm and waz thus THINKING and calculating how to TIME AA while not giving a FLYIN **** whether or not he waz LOOSING the fight up until that point he waz only up until that point makin sure of one thing and that waz that he let AA whistle as many punchez at him as AA wanted while makin sure to slip, or parry them at the last second witch of course is what one does when they are trying to TIME someone did u get that CONCLUSIVELY i believe your POINT has CONCLUSIVELY been shown to be IRRELEVENT
Fedor boxing was working for him so why fixed it, there many technical MMA boxers out who often lose a lot
there is a lot if boxers who crossover to mma and get nowhere, comparing the 2 is like comparing football to rugby! fedors striking is built around the art of mma! it is effective in the context of which it serves! ernesto hoost praises fedors striking prowess.
