"I think he [Fedor Emelianenko] is being a p*ssy. I think Fedor is very good, but you have to fight the top level competitors all the time to keep that status, and he is just not doing that.”

    :rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl

Tim tells the cold hard truth! Timmy's last 5 opponents have been Vera, Coutrue,Monson,Arlovski(x2) and he's about to fight Big Nog. Tim fights the big fights and will fight anyone, if Sylvia were doing what Fedor is doing (fighting bums) then everyone would be crucifying Tim and be calling him a fraud, Fedor fights complete bums and its ok :verysad
Good on Tim for telling it like it. :good

    Yeah?

And when Big Nog breaks tims arm, or knee, or dislocates his shoulder.. Where does that leave Tim? Guy that was defeated by someone who really is Fedors *****.

    We'll see about that!
Judging from Nog's last pitiful performance I'd give Sylvia a great chance at victory!

    I'd say it's a pick em fight...it's an interesting match-up for sure....but I think I'm giving Tim the edge.

Cool for telling it like it is.

    Unfortunately Fedor would own him.

Just like Crocop would own Gonzaga?
Just like Crocop would own Kongo?
Just like Shogun would own Griffin?
Just like Gomi would own Diaz?

There ain't no ownage till it happens, all these other Pride fighters were going to own their UFC counterparts because Pride fighters are of course superior! Huh? huh? :deal

Don't be so hasty. Sylvia would be one of the tougher men Fedor has faced, certainly in the top 5!

Don't you think we should hold off on such assumptions until the conclusion of the Nog vs. Sylvia fight?

I think Nog will win.. Fairly certain Nog would own Randy as well.

Keep having to bring up Rampage and Silva. Might end up having 3 former pride fighters as champs.. None of which were even dominant in Pride..

As it is, 2 of 5.. Rampage beating the flagship of the UFC in Liddel.. Anderson making his entire devision look helpless.

Well, Randy isn't Coleman, he knows his submissions and how to escape.
Nog has bad wrestling, it would be interesting to see how Nog would deal with Randys phenomenal greco wrestling skills in a cage.

Probably the same way he dealt with Barnett?

Lets not forget, Barnette overpowered and out fought a younger, more vigourous Couture.. Took Nog two tries, but he seems to be able to handle wrestlers.

Hmm.....theres still a slight difference, Barnett is a 'Catch wrestler' which is a form of submission grappling. Its not known for its takedowns or body control. As can be seen when watching Barnett, he has great submission skills but bad takedowns (non-existant) also his actual traditional standup wrestling skill is quite poor as seen in the Nastula fight where he was controlled from the clinch by Nastula for 1 & 1/2 rounds relatively easily.

So Barnett is a great Catch Wrestler but he isn't a traditional wrestler in the mold of Couture. The best wrestlers Nog has faced is Coleman and probably Fedor (sambo being a mix between wrestling and submission grappling)
We know what happened to him against Fedor and against Coleman he did well submitting him, but all Hammer House fighters are known for having **** poor submission defence, Couture hasn't been submitted for about a decade so he won't be walking into a lazy submission.

I reckon Couture is stronger than Nog, he would probably want to greco clinch with Nog and press him against the cage dirty boxing him and take him down a few times. Nog has never had to deal with a really good greco-roman wrestler with a good clinch that can control him.

As for the Sylvia-Nog fight, I feel it will be a striking affair, Sylvia sure as hell won't take it to the floor and I feel Nog is too slow to get Sylvia down and doesn't have the wrestling abilty to do so.

It will come down to who is the better striker, now I doubt either man can knock each other out, so it will be who has the faster hands, will be more active, who has the better reach. I see Sylvia keeping the plodding Nog at bay with his long reach never allowing Nog to come close and jabbing the hell out of him.

I predict this fight will be extremley boring.

In part true! But by this logic, Couture never should have lost to Barnett.. Instead, he was pretty much man handled and out fought in all the categories Randy should be superior in.

To be honest, I haven't seen the Barnett-Couture fight, all I know is that he overwhelmed Randy with his size and better stand up (Both their stand up is relatively weak) I also know that Barnett tested for steroids after the fight so, I don't know.......
    Styles makes fights.

Steroids dont give you skills. Randy boxed in the army and has very good stand up skills i wouldnt call them weak in slightest.Look what he was able to do with a jab and over hand right to Tim. Barnett was simply bigger and better.

Tim really is an idiot.Take away his size and Tim is a nobody. His average at everything and only has the advantages in fights merely because of his size.

When Monson was a mooted opponent for Fedor everyone cried its a "Mismatch". If Fedor man handled Arlovski or Tim (which he would) you`d be crying the same thing. As for Couture we all know the result. And the only reason why people are screaming Coutures name is because of his heralded comeback against AN AVERAGE FIGHTER Tim Sylvia and Gonzaga. Both great results for a man who`s 44 but the reality is both guys were nobodies. So **** Tim and the boat he sailed in on.He needs to learn when to open his mouth and show some respect. His not half as good as he thinks he is.

They don't give you skills but they can help you be bigger and stronger which is exactly what Barnett used to win him the fight.
