Can't help but feel his pals at M-1 are putting him up to it, even a couple more fights is probably worth a lot to the promotion. Who makes money for M-1 other than Fedor? The fire is gone, he should retire.
Too big my ass, please stop the bs, the man has simply came to the end of the line... a line that stretched further than any MMA fighter in history.
He won't be cleared to fight for a while. That eye is totally jacked! And if he does come back who does he fight? monsters like Overeem??
agree 100%. in his prime he skull ****s bigfoot without breaking a sweat. i fear he will fight and lose again, we don't want him ending up like tyson(which i know he won't)
no way the game has changed since fedors pride days, opponents are far more skilled than back then especially the bigger opponents
Please wake up :verysad You act like Fedor`s prime was back when Royce was triangling Dan Severn, there has been little or no improvement overall in the fighters today compared to when Fedor was dominant... stop being ridiculous.
I think there's merit to both sides of the argument...... The H/W's in MMA now are the total package unlike 10yrs ago, not saying Fedor couldn't beat those guys if he was 5-7yrs younger but that's how well the sports evolved. He'll still be competitive but not against the likes of bigfoot, overeem, cain, valzsq etc etc
Nah, I think the sport is developing really fast. People see what works what doesn't and are humble enough to learn new stuff and train new way. Fedor's fire seemed to have been gone ever since he became religious as well.
Yes, he was always calm and coolheaded but religion only came few years ago. I think he started becoming religious right at the end of Pride. He used to be a mean mother****er(not really but burner on the inside was clearly on), today's Fedor would never be saying things he said when his brother lost to Crocop. Today's Fedor would never say something like "Years ago we hardly had anything to eat. Now I earn more money and I see every opponent as a man that tries to put me back to that poorer period. That man has to be eliminated." That man has found religion.
Fedor was always religious IIRC. He just used to speak far, far less. Now he is being forced to open up more we hear more about him. Big Foot would've given him hassle at any point in Fedors career. Let's be real; if Fedor hadn't been taken down straight away in round two he would've taken less of a pummeling and could well have come out for the third round. This isn't anything to do with evolution, it just happens. He isn't as good as he used to be, but it's not like he was completely shown up against Big Foot. Big Foot is big and skilled. He's no Hong Man Choi. Big Foot would give anyone in the top ten a very tough fight, especially a much smaller guy past his prime. It happens. It has nothing to do with evolution.
No, I do not believe that's correct. He was religious in a sense that he believed in god perhaps. So do i, but I'm hardly religious. Only few years back did he start going to church, met his pastor that he became close with etc. I distinctly remember him giving an interview where he answered a few questions about this.
