I don't see why Couture is so important to Fedor is legacy.

I say Karelin is one of the greatest athletes of all time because of his record in highly competetive sport.

for me the fact that the sport is young don't change a lot..it's not like Fedor is a kind of Wilt Chamberlin...if you get my point..

Mohamed Ali is always named in the GREATEST ATHLETE OF ALL TIME, what did he do different than Fedor?

 

Bo jackson. no surprise here., an ex-NFL and baseball player. Because we all know , the best specimens are found in baseball & NFL. (and in america of course! since it's the center of the planet )

Note: i'm not even defending fedor here. But if your own head ain't stuck somewhere else , you sure have a rather biased conception of "the" greatest athlete".

Not saying that Bo jackson was **** either...He was amazing in his own way. but the greatest ever ? get the **** outta here.

For one , there's tons of absolutely amazing athletes out there. and none of them can pretend to be the greatest ever. To be the greatest ever , you'd have to excell in many disciplines.

But there's no such thing as a guy wjo excels in all forms of sports.
Find me a guy who's # 1 in swiming , boxing , mma , kickboxing , soccer , tennis , judo , greco wrestling , baseball , basketball , NHL , NFL...then you might have a winner....

All we can do is compare their dominance in their specialty.
The greatest ever ? yes but only in their own sports.

Right now I see Fedor(if he retires virtually undefeated) as Rocky Marciano of MMA

 

If Fedor fights all these guys within that time period my hat is off to him and that does make up for his lost time of fighting his latest fights.
