i think it needs to tighten up it looked very flawed against arlowski, to wide, does anybody else agree, his chin was up in the air when he threw body punches also
Fedor never considered himself the best striker. Coming into the Arlovski fight, Anderi and Freddy Roach were constantly talking about the holes in Fedor's stand up... But who got knocked out?:yep
thats true, but i still think he can improve his technique, fedor is a winner and finds a way to get it done, but i think he should work on his strieking, what did freddie roach say?
Some fighters don't need proper textbook technique. They win by using their natural abilities and instincts to their strengths. Rocky Marciano had some of the dodgiest technique of any boxer yet he was able to defeat the more technically proficient Ezzard Charles and Jersey Joe Walcott.
True! But Fedor looked very ordinary and looking like he had no answers for Arlovskis boxing up until Andre decided to stop boxing and start with a flying knee. atsch Andre should have stuck to the game plan...which was to box!
He doesnt need too. Fedor knows where his bread and butter is and thats on the ground not standing up. He's VERY heavy handed and from the mount is one of the best finishers of all time. As long as Fedor can get his opponent to the mat he'll continue to win.
Honestly the angle it was filmed at made Fedor look a lot worse. He looked very dodgey but he didn't get hit that much, I think, after I've rewatched it many times, he was never threatened and landed solid punches 1 for 1 with Arlovski.
I wish I could find that thread in sherdog where someone posted like 10 gifs of that fight of the punches that AA suposedly landed. Fedor all avoided them. It was great gif in slow motion. Fedor is seriously great at avoiding damage from punch standing. The only thing that really landed was his push kick. And oh well, you know the end.
Nah brah....I seen the fight 3 times and Andre was doing a great job with his boxing. It took Fedor out of his comfort zone. he was eating the jab and right hands until the end of the fight. Not that Fedor was shook or hurt but he was getting handled without any answers. The flying Knee ended the fight b/c Fedor was able to capitolize on an extremely open Arlovski. Not that Andre would have "Definitly" won had he not decided on the flying knee....But he would have had a much better chance at catching Fedor and keeping the fight standing.
He was just talking alot about how Fedor is not a good Boxer and that Anderi had the advantage there and that it's gonna show and stuff. Funny thing Fedor even agreed with Freddie. He said he's not a Boxer but what he does works for him he says.
If you really look at it, the only shot Anderi really landed solid that backed Fedor up was that push kick right before the flying knee attempt. Those punches weren't really landing, it's just that Anderi was throwing more but Fedor was never hurt or in trouble. If the fight reached the 2nd round, yeah Anderi would have won the 1st round, but only based on activity. Fedor was waiting for Anderi to make a mistake and he capitalized. And if they would have hit the ground, Fedor would have subbed him.
You talk about keeping the fight standing as though it was a matter of course. This is MMA not boxing. Wether AA has better hands is very unimportant. What Fedor does he does better than AA. As for being open, the guy was throwing a knee. How many fighters can catch there opponent in mid flight with a brutal overhand right?
CC is/was a better striker than AA. As far as im concerned his boxing is just as good as AA's except his hands arent as fast. Fedor completely nullified CC for 3 rounds.
On my post that you quoted I meant to say if the fight reached the second round, Andrei would have won the 1st round based on activity. On my post it looks like I said Anderi would have won the 2nd round. My bad.
