I never said it was a good analogy, Koa did.

Besides, assaulting other players in the NFL is, just as you said, illegal. In a fight, elbowing Fedor until his face bleeds is not, so any comparison between illegal NFL brawling and getting TKO'd on cuts in PRIDE is moot.

It was a good analogy when you look at it proper. You didn't. I showed you the way too look at it.

Plus, you obviously don't have your facts straight. Elbowing Fedor in the face was NOT legal under "Rings" rules. It was a tournament format analogous to NFL playoffs and they needed someone to compete in next round. Fedor's cut was severe enough for him not being able to continue. They had to make his opponent fight in the next round and they gave him the lame W.

You do not know what you are talking about. That was an illegal blow. He raped Kohsaka in a rematch.

To me its like voting a team with one loss from the SEC, Florida, into the national title game over an undefeated Boise state team who is playing the equivlant of the Zulu's, Middleweights, and Mark Hunts of college football into the national championship game.

You can lose your spot when your winning close games and playing bad teams.

Question is.... Will Fedor ever fight a heavyweight again?......or even a top ranked guy?

    Question is, will Randy?

Will Randy ever avenge losses, or will he continue his acting career.

It really bothers you guys that Fedor didn't join the UFC. But was that Fedors fault, or the fault of Dana White?

If anything, Fedor wants to fight the best in the world in an org that is all inclusive of fighters from all over the world, not some cherry picked Americentric one.

Then why pick a brand-new org that has very few/no world-class fighters?

Because he has a different vision of what MMA should be all about. The UFC can only headline so many fighters, is not interested in fighters such as Barnett, and has a weight limit making it difficult for guys like Mark Hunt to participate..

There are other countries which could authorize better rules. Soccer kicks, knees to the head while on the ground as well as elbows and knees, which the sissified U.S. commissions will not allow. MMA shouldn't be dominated by the U.S. It should be an international sport in which different orgs can compete with one another.

You, like myself, are big Fedor fans. However, there is really not much to defend in his actions. To do so you're making a ton of assumptions. I think the bottom line is that he is indeed avoiding the best competition. Maybe he has good reasons and maybe he doesn't but he is indeed avoiding top notch, proven competition.

This is a disappointing turn of events. Perhaps he feels he stands to make more money with less risk vs Gracie? That is the only thing that seems logical.

How is he avoiding the best comp, who have ufc got apart from nog (already beaten), cro-cop (past it and already beaten) and sylvia. If M1 goes the way they want they will have better competition than the ufc and then will all the ufc fighter's be ducking the best comp by staying with ufc. Also k1-hero's has the best 155 division so sherk etc have all been ducking the best comp by staying with the ufc.

Not exactly no, alot of people don't seem to understand business or mma. If fedor fights rickson it will not be fighting the best comp, however he is a very big name in mma and it's the kind of fight that would get people talking about M1. If he continued to fight guys not of top standard after that then i would change my mind, it is only the same as when matt hughes fought royce, it is for publicity.
Also as shown by randy moving away from ufc and fedor not signing up, it shows the ufc is trying to **** fighter's over and not giving them a fair deal. The fighter's are the ones that bring in the fans and the money not clowns like dana white.

I understand money. I totally agree that ultimately the name of the game is minimum risk for maximum gain. He has a chance to make a VERY stong mark right now and I would hate to see him blow potential long term financial and professional success.

I believe he is the best fighter in the world and the UFC offers him the chance to get the most exposure. He can fight Gracie all he wants but its not going to get him the exposure of doing a PPV for Dana. For the die-hard fans he has nothing to prove and his claim to the throne is already legit. To the causual fan I doubt if beating an old Gracie does anything to make him more compelling since they will most likly not be able to witness it.

Currently his body of work is in the ether to most as it is. They are not going to youtube to see him in his glory. He needs to be seen live by the masses.

Just hope it works out for him.

I hope it happens in a reasonable amount of time for Fedor. But until then he still has a avenue to further exposure. That is the UFC.

Have you read anything about M1 being in negotiations with HBO, Showtime etc?
