I was looking around for some preStrikeForce Grand Prix training footage with Fedor, but ran across numerous links to sites reporting that Fedor is interested in training with Shane Carwin. http://www.5thround.com/65083/fedor-emelianenko-interested-in-training-with-shane-carwin/ http://www.fightinginsider.com/2011/01/18/shane-carwin-to-train-with-fedor-emelianenko/ http://www.mmaconvert.com/2011/01/17/shane-carwin-hopes-to-train-with-fedor-emelianenko-in-russia/ Fedor has spent most of his mma career in a ring. Carwin is a great source to turn to if Fedor is looking to improve his cage game. There's nothing like taking a 265 lb monster with legit freestyle wrestling skills, and letting him pin you against the cage.
He said this a few weeks ago. I guess he's looking for someone to replicate Silvas size more than anything.
Both Silva and Overeem. I dont think Fedor will have a problem beating Antonio Silva, but Overeem might give him some trouble.Fedor needs to take Overeem to the ground. He needs to learn from the mistake he made with Werdum and not play into his opponents strengths. I think that is the reasoning behind using Carwin as a training partner, train grappling with a giant brute like Silva and (if he gets by Werdum which is no easy task) Overeem. I am looking forward to this tournament more than anything in MMA this year, please let Fedor be in top form! I pick Fedor Emelianenko to win this tournament. Its time for the cyborg to become the terminator again! War Fedor!
