"Everyone" wasn't saying he didn't have any defensive fundamentals, the issue was whether he had any fundamentals full stop, check back and read the ****ing posts before trying to move the goalposts.

Roy sporadically fought on the ropes throughout his prime, and proved he could defend himself there. Obviously he was more effective in centre ring where his speed and movement meant he was even harder to hit, but he did prove he could fight effectively off the ropes. He didn't have a defence like James Toney there, but to say he had "no defensive fundamentals" is borderline moronic. The evidence proves otherwise. Actually watch his fights instead of just trolling around here.

I said Fedor spent longer in Nogueira's guard without getting submitted than he did in Werdum's.

If you have a brain, you know this.

If you've ever seen the fights in question, you know this.

If you have a stopwatch and can time how long he spent in Nog's guard as compared to Werdum's, you know this.

But a little squadron of internet trolls feel like arguing with the very, very obvious truth.

The same as every time we debate, you're wrong. Even a shot-to-**** Jones had the necessary defensive fundamentals to defend himself effectively on the ropes, and set up counter opportunities to turn the fight decisively in his favour.

I'll ask you again - why don't you just watch more fights instead of being a tedious little internet troll? :think
