This post contains some of the dumbest sentences ever written in English. Either this guy doesn't understand boxing in any way, or he's just a mongtard.

Here are a couple of his most idiotic statements extracted for ridicule:

    Fail.

Response: Then why isn't Usain Bolt the world heavyweight champion?

    Fail.

Response: Watch Roy Jones vs Reggie Johnson, and then find me a comparable showing of ring craft from Glen Johnson. Even the way Jones adapted to turn the fight his way in the first meeting with Montell Griffin showed he had considerable ring craft and skills.

    Fail.

    Response: Most of his career?!

Bernard Hopkins, James Toney, Sugarboy Malinga, Thomas Tate, Montell Griffin, Virgil Hill, Mike McCallum, Reggie Johnson, Eric Harding, Clinton Woods, John Ruiz, Antonio Tarver...

    Ludicrous.

    Fail.

If he had zero ability to overcome physical disadvantages, how did he manage to overcome a 30lbs weight difference to box the chops off John Ruiz? How did he manage to defeat a naturally bigger man like Antonio Tarver once Jones was patently past his physical prime?

    Fail.

Are you saying that Salvador Sanchez, Mike Tyson and Wilfred Benitez were not great?

A quite colossal pile of fail for only one post Haggis!! :rofl

I understand boxing well enough to increase my vcash total fifteenfold by betting on it, thank you. :good

Because Bolt can run faster than anyone else, that means he'll also have faster hands than anyone else, and faster reflexes, and more power in his punches? :huh

Sure he did. As long as he was much faster than his opponent was.

Yes. Although he lifted his level of opposition substantially in the Tarver-Ruiz era.

Well, the fact that Ruiz was fighting in slow motion compared to Jones helped him. Anyone who watched the fight saw that Ruiz was the man who was physically outclassed.

I actually count Tarver 1 as being perhaps Jones' greatest victory, for the very reason that he wasn't physically dominant and he did have to dig deep. But Tarver gave him too much respect. At the time I didn't think that Jones would give him the rematch, but he did and credit to him for it. In the rematch, however, Tarver backed his own abilities much more, and laid Jones out quickly.

No, I'm not saying that at all. But I AM saying that none of them are the Greatest of All Time. Huge part of that - their primes and/or careers were too short.

    1. There is a difference between an excuse and Aoki being thrown into a situation there was no way he could properly prepare for

    2. No, **** Shields, Fedor is GOAT

I can't really be bothered wading through this garbage again.

Your conclusion is that the only thing Roy Jones had was speed, he had no skills, and as soon as his speed left him he was finished as a top fighter.

My conclusion is that you either haven't seen a lot of his fights or don't understand boxing at all.

If all a guy needed was faster hands, feet and reflexes than anyone else allied to power, then Zab Judah would've been the second coming of Ray Robinson. :nono

Where did I say that? I said that he had a combination of speed and power that nobody could match. Over his career he began to rely on those physical gifts rather than constantly working to refine his fundamentals. When his almost superhuman speed and reflexes deserted him and he was no longer physically dominant, he lost fights. You look at a man like Bernard Hopkins or Glen Johnson, they can win fights into their 40s because their skillset was never based on superior athleticism. It was based on superior technique and ring generalship.

I've watched his biggest fights, albeit most of them years ago. And again, when it comes to not understanding boxing, I can only say one thing. If any boxing fan could have no understanding of the sport and yet still turn $1 into $15 by betting on fights, then bookmakers would not offer odds on fights.

You mean the undisputed welterweight champion Zab Judah? The same guy who clearly had all the physical tools to beat anybody, but who spent most of his career looking like he had the brain of a six year old child inside the ring? :huh

Anyway, to finish off, tell me that Fedor was physically shot and his body was no longer capable of defeating Werdum and Henderson. Go on. Tell me that Fedor couldn't pull the trigger anymore, and it was his body rather than his mind that let him down against Werdum AND Henderson. :good
