    With Werdum's loss that it makes him the eighth fighter in a row to lose their next heavyweight fight after facing Fedor Emelianenko. The last fighter to win their next heavyweight fight was Mirko Cro Cop who lost to Fedor in August 2005 and defeated Josh Barnett in October of the same year.

    (Matt Lindland did win his next fight after facing Fedor but that was upon his return to his natural middleweight division).
