That was Couture's first fight back after a layoff and getting KO'd twice by Liddell, At that point why would they offer couture 3 mill? that was before he came back and the new Randy had emerged as a force again. so why did they offer a guy 3 mill that just came off a brutal KO at 205? Does Fedor like fighting peoples leftovers after they get beat? That was as good as fighting a guy who came off a loss to Rampage when he fought Lindlund.

Why did Couture took 250k to fight in UFC instead of fighting Fedor for 3 mil?

Because Couture is a loyal guy, and was trying to stay with the UFC, who he still worked for.

:huh I wouldn't say that. I don't think that Fedor is scared to fight anyone.

However, I also don't think that he can continue to be called the #1 fighter in the world without beating the top fighters in the world. This sport is evolving much to fast to rest your status on things done in the years past.

As far as I know you boy Couture just jumped UFC ship just as well. Is he a scared little **** for that?

The only scared little **** around here is Dana White who does not pay fighters what they are worth and is so afraid of business competition as to demand farcical locked in contracts.

Well, my first post wasn't really directed towards you anyways. You have some sense and I agree with you. I'm just trying to figure out how clueless people really are around here. Right down there with Sweat Pee.

    Curmudgeon... what?

if you follow the couture situation, you might have some slight sympathy for fedor not wanting to sign his life away to a person with the emotional issues of dana white, but whatever.

Someone earlier in the thread brought up an interesting point.

Fedor offered to fight Randy... when he was a 205lb fighter who had just been KO'd twice by Liddell and was heading into retirement.

When Couture revitalized his career at heavyweight, dominated Sylvia and Gonzaga...Fedor is nowhere to be found.

Is Fedor supposed to run around like a puppet and fight anyone who wants to fight him? Couture had a shot at him, he declined. The ship has sailed.

Randy's "shot" came right after he had been knocked out twice by a light-heavyweight and retired?

Randy became UFC champ month later, obviously he was good. I love how you turn around the fact that it was Couture who backed out of a better deal to fight a lesser opponent. Now its Fedor who was scared :rofl. Seriously, are you that thick? Gota love people who confirm to these bandwagons.

To tell you the truth, I dont care about the bandwagon. Im just trying to find who is clueless enough to get on it.

Fedor was calling Couture out as of last week.

And looking at the analysis of Z's contracts published, I can not find a slightest reason to blame a marquee fighter for not signing with UFC.

Randy retired in February 2006, following Couture-Liddell III

His comeback fight against Sylvia was in March 2007.

Hardly one month later, eh? He was out for a whole year.

Calling out retired champs coming off of back-to-back knockout losses is exactly Fedor's style, though. That and fighting middleweights.

He was offered 3 mil something 2-3 months before his title fight at UFC. I consider it absolutely no time to become better or worse. Just enough time to get back into training. Couture didn't accept a fight against a better opponent for more money. Let me hear you say, "he is a noble fighter, who wants to stick to UFC." Riiiight, is that why he just left UFC? Is that why he was swimming upstream with UFC administration since the beginning?

Oh, he is disrepected cause he didn't get his bonus, but its not about the money? How more hypocritical can you be. Yes, it IS about the money. It is the sign of appreciate in business world. So, if it IS about the money than what happen to him not accepting 3 mil to fight Fedor? Your line "He is noble to stick with the UFC, the org he helped make." Que the "round and round we go."

Can't use a logic to prove one fighter being scared and right after that defend your fighter against the same arguments.
