How sharp was the Boss man with his striking, the 2 shots that dropped Sonnen at the start were a thing of beauty. Then he just rag dolls him when hes ready, catching a little breather waiting for his moment to smash again. Flashes of what made him the no1 heavy of all time, the throw to get Sonnen off him too was just pure natural core strength..I'm not fooled though, at 42 carrying flab and some moves he looked his age. Just great to see him show them flashes that you remember years ago though from him. He was more controlled in his striking though than his last few fights, he does Mittrione in a rematch, what yous think ???
Handspeed and power are still there.. As are all of the mistakes he's always made. Fedors a natural. It worked for him almost without error in his prime when he had a granite chin. Seems like he brawls more these days tbh.
Sonnen is similar to the overrated Diaz Bros in that they never think they lose a fight even when they get destroyed and totally outclassed.
I did like Sonnen's interview after the fight with Helwani, he just said it simple, "he was so strong and explosive"...There was a hint from him that he could've done better, but he couldn't, he was hurt from the first one two from Fedor and rag dolled really after that. He done well to get up from the first knockdown though, hes a tough man without a doubt imo
Nick only got shut out by GSP because someone poisoned him. Otherwise he would've beaten Georges easily. Rumour has it that Chael Sonnen, Nate Diaz and Nick '1, 2, 5' Diaz are all still "unbeaten".
Chael says he doesn't remember most of the Bisping fight. Says he got clipped hard early and fought the rest of the fight mostly on instinct. Still say Bisping won that fight. Judges scored cage hugging and useless control more back then. Today that would have probably been a clear Bisping UD.
Lol @UnleashtheFURY is such a passive aggressive little ***** liking your comment because he knows I'm a fan of Chael. Chael is straight trash now, I won't even debate that. In his prime he was an absolute monster though. Watching him since the Tito fight has just been sad. It's like watching Michael Jordan on the Wizards except worse.
