I just started sparring and when I get hit with a straight body shot sometimes I feel like throwing up? Why and how do I prevent this?
Yea, I think thats normal bro. Sometimes Ill take a good straight at my middle waist and instantly have to pee... Maybe your just getting the wind knocked out of you?
Cover with your elbows, and if that's not possible and being hit is unavoidable, breath out at the moment of impact. Your other thread makes me think you should be doing defensive drills for a while first. The feeling is rather normal, being punched in the plexus does that. Your coach should have taught you how to deal with it first though.
I got hit with a bodyshot once that almost made me **** my pants. I habitually keep my elbows tucked since that day.
ive just come back from boxing now did 4 rounds with my 2 coaches alternativly in the 2nd round of 4 my coach hit me with a rib shot that normally makes people quit but i kept goin knackered and hurt for 2 rounds and he said to me he didnt notice i was hurt or winded
GPater I do believe you will be undisputed heavyweight champion some day. ****, between taking shots from your huge friend "who plays rugby" and your coach you are a regular mike tyson.
slippunches im not going to be heavyweight champ im far too small i just have a good chin and determination to stay up and fight back
Im the same way. Ive had a bloodied up lip and broken nose and still spar like its the first round. Its a good trait to have, others think highly of it too it seems. So keep that hunger and determination.
