Not at all, I think he was under a lot of pressure and I can imagine him being guilt tripped into taking the fight. After there was no real punishment of Broner it must have become clear that Broner was meant to win this fight, that that was the plan and that Escobedo was just there to make up the numbers in Golden Boy's eyes. I think all that sunk in in the post fight interview. Max Kellerman poking at him obviously didn't help either.

Yeah, that's messed up. Regardless of him being compensated, Broner still cheated him twice on the scales and gained an unfair advantage. No, I'm not just talking about the 5 pound weight difference, I'm talking about the fact that one man had to bust his ass to make weight, whilst the other walked in freely weighing whatever the **** he wanted.

But still, I hope Esco can go home and enjoy his payday with his wife and kid.

Kellerman went down in my estimation last night with those post fight interviews.

I have massive respect for Escobedo & hope he gets another title shot on a level playing field.

Broner is a clown & lost a lot of fans

I actually dont feel sorry for him. He got paid a **** ton of money for a fight he had no chance of winning. He also gets to fight for a title again. Broner makes weight then Esocbedo gets significantly less money no 2nd title fight. Broner should have made weight but in the long run him not making weight helped Escobedo they are different class of fighters. It was a 5lb weight difference on fight night.

Wait a sec.....didnt Broner make Escobedo come down for this fight?:think It should have been at a 133 catchweight and then we would be having this argument........

I feel bad for Escobedo too, but let's face it, he made money last night that he would have otherwise never made. So, even though Broners little bait and switch worked, and he dominated Esco, who did he really dominate? He basically just handed Esco an extra 60K b/c he couldnt meet his own conteact demands.....ROFL:rofl

I really like Escebedo. That guys been a hard working honest pro since the Olympics. It's just a shame that he's not good enough at the highest level despite working as hard as he does. It's also a pity he wasn't the man to humble Broner.

Only in boxing must certain fighters be humble..

If Broner was a star id sit up and take note. If Broner has a record littered with names id sit up and take note. If Broner was professional id sit up and take note.

But instead of this what we have is a guy pretending he is a super star. Basically a PBF clone, who's done nothing to deserve the accolades he's giving himself and isn't even professional enough to make weight. His attitude isn't going to endear him to no one. Iv got no problem with fighters who talk smack, have a gimmick and back it up. Ali did it. Tyson did it. Nas did it etc. But who's Broner? Some nobody from Ohio who wants to make the big time with an imitation of someone else?

Floyd became a star BECAUSE of his professionalism. Matter of fact ALL the great boxers before him have gone on to be stars BECAUSE of their professionalism and talent. Broner has the lata. Without the former he won't be anything.

Escobedo is an honest fighter, too bad he got ****ed over after having spent a whole training camp away from his daughter and wife.

It's pretty disgraceful from Broner, there really is no excuse to come in heavy not only for the actual weigh in, but for the stipulated rehydration clause.

    He's gotta start somewhere...

He has people talking about..even wanting to see him "humbled"

Thats the same **** white people said about Jack Johnson damn near 100 years ago..

Obviously the weight controversy was messed up. However, Escobedo made out pretty well. He wasn't going to win this fight regardless. However, in this situation, he got double the money and his stock doesn't go down. In fact, he'll probably be fighting for that title in his next fight. No doubt he's hurting because he feels he took a loss in an unfair fight. All things considered though, it ended up being a win for Escobedo anyway.

As far as Broner, he looked sensational out there but it ended up being a loss for him. He loses his title, and he loses credibility with his peers. Hopefully in the future he's more deligent about making the weight.
