Nqh, guys like him don't learn. He had a good coach in Breland, but Breland himself said that Wilder didn't want to learn and train by his guidance, he wanted to do his things and just rely on that right hand. That's why he get rid of Breland and he is surrounded by Yes men. I never take this guy serious, but i laugh so hard as comparing him to AJ, a guy who truly wanna learn and improve and Wilder, who hired Malik Scott, a guy who took a dive against him as his main trainer. You are showing your heart/soul in the gym, by working hard, get better, change, improve, and in the ring you just perform. Never seen any of that in Wilder. ***** Spilka outboxed him for 9 rounds before the KO. Nothing more need to be said. And now his fans trying to excuse him with that he is old or that Fury breaks him. But before the fight they still overhyped him, and were saying he will beat anyone but Fury magically. Nqh Wilder is the same guy he always was. He ain't better, he ain't worst. Basically the only good thing about his style is that is age proof. The only thing i feel sad about him is we won't see once being the biggest fight in Boxing AJ - WIlder.
Wilder is physically and mentally past it. The wars with Fury took their toil on this body, then his mind. Recently it seemed like Wilder talked a lot more than in the past. When often kept mentioning his natural power recently, I took it he wasn't or couldn't train properly. More than anything I am happy for Joe Parker, who has always been a gentleman and a class act and has won the biggest fight of his career.
Totally agree. He made the sport his own, and matched up interestingly against anyone, in spite of his fundamental flaws. To all his non-fans - how many Wilder fights did you miss? And also, how many were you not always on the edge of your seat for? Nothing not to like there. IMO
Wilder's career is a lesson in brilliant managing. My only concern is he bragged about managing his finances well in the post-fight, when people do that there's probably a 10% chance of the boasting being accurate. He maximised his earning potential ten-fold with his team's careful management. He was never going to be Muhammed Ali so he may as well be cashed up.
I have to say Wilder's been one of those fighters I've enjoyed watching purely waiting for him to get beaten and the exaggerated hype to stop... And that in itself adds intrigue and tension. It's not a question of hate (the line about wanting a body on his record aside, there isn't anything to genuinely hate), it's more a question of seeing an overhyped and overprotected fighter and knowing that at some point he's going to come up against someone that's just too good for him... Ortiz was nearly it, despite being ancient and having a paper thin resume himself. Fury beat him undeniably twice and, whilst close, I do think he should've been given #1 also (the 115-111 card in Wilder's favour was textbook judging corruption).... The draw card was a stretch but just about acceptable, but there was no way you could justify a Wilder winning card. The sad thing with Fury, though, was instead of derailing that hype train, it just created an even bigger one (for Fury) whilst enhancing Wilder's reputation despite him being thoroughly outclassed. Parker is particularly delicious given the derision the vast majority of the OTT Wilder fanboys (not counting yourself among those, to my knowledge!) directed at Parker to try and keep Joshua's reputation down... And for the record, I don't really like Joshua as a character at all - but I do think he is and always has been the better fighter of the two. I guess the biggest black mark against Wilder has been that failure to really step up and fight the contenders in the division - finally losing to the only two he faced... This despite having held a belt for a long time and avoiding several that clearly wanted him all along - as well as the undisputed bout with Joshua. That WBC belt was well and truly held hostage. Ultimately, if we as fans are going to bemoan the lack of good fights and the guys protecting 0's at our expense, we really do have to recognize that Wilder hasn't been great for the division - even if he has been entertaining in his own way. (And yes, for similar reasons, it won't necessarily be a bad thing when Fury is no longer slowing down the division).
Nah, I try and stay impartial - I like and disliked all 4 of the main guys for different reasons. usyk - like him for his honour and skill. Disliked the way people were using him as a deity to diminish other fighters (not his fault, of course). fury - was really rooting for him in his comeback. What’s not to love there? Such a great story. Disliked his resting on his laurels and fighting gimmes post wilder as if he had done enough. wilder - love watching him fight. Like his goofy shenanigans, and the KO’s are nuts. But disliked the body talk obviously, but mainly the WBC and PBC protection of him. That really spoiled things cos there were so many amazing matches to see him in. Joshua - loved his desire to make the fights. Best resume easily. Liked the feel good nature of his events and his dedication to elevating boxing as a sport. Disliked the DAZN hyperbole, but again not his fault.
Without a knockout artist in the HW division, boxing is dead. No one wants to see Shakur and these lightweight fighters run around the ring for points
My condolences are with you through this time of need. Feel free to reach out, talk, mourn, and heal. I extend my deepest sympathies. God bless you, REKX. Sincerely, NoChin.
Deontay Wilder? thats what you upset about? Wilder make millions on his limited skills. How much do you make? See if you cant pay your rent, ask Deontay Wilder, see what he tells you, Deontay Wilder doesnt care about you so why should you care about him? nobody cares!
Obviously it's time to retire, after watching this fight I thought, Who couldn't have beaten Wilder tonight? Parker was the same old Parker , it wasn't like he threw a lot of punches either. It was a bad fight
Agreed. Wilders explosive style was hugely entertaining to watch. A fighters decline is always sad to see. The Wilder before the Fury fights would likely have finished Parker off.
