I know he has supposedly helped MMA out alot, by buying it with the Ferritas, but I just cant help but dislike this dude. Here are the reasons.

1.Every single time a ufc event comes on, in the preview of the event, theres Dana White giving his expert analysis on the fights. he should hire some MMA writers or analysts to do the talking. But hes to arrogant to do that, even though it would make the UFC look alot more professional to the mainstream. Not to mention he dresses like a skateboard kid, and says **** all the time, thats not making the sport look respectable.

    2. The bull**** that comes out of his mouth and his nuthuggery of certain fighters. In the recent post conferance for UFC 73, Dana White spoke on Tito "Hes not up there with Randy, Liddell, Hughes, and Franklin," in a subtle **** talking way. He did this cause Tito said the fighters were underpaid and that Dana was bad for the sport. So now he is taking personal jabs at fighters like a kid. Did he not just see Liddell, Hughes and Franklin get their head kicked in. Or dead he forget already and now hes back to trying to build them up for the TUFFER audience. Boxing doesnt have a guy like Dana White, well maybe they do, Don King, but nobody takes what he says to seriously. Since Dana is practically calling every shot in the UFC, he is a little more powerful then Don King is in Boxing.

All in all, I think it would be better if he was the man behind the scene running the show, and not tryING to satisfy his fantasy about being a celebrity on Tv constantly. Nobody buys tickets to hear Dana White talk, or watches the UFC to hear his bald ass act. Hes not a fighter, hes not an analyst, hes a business man ,a suite. So he should stop pretending.

    Thoughts.

I just hate his swearing and his immature attitude, at least he gives us fights and makes the best fighters fight one another........which isn't happening in Boxing.

He's the reason why MMA has become one of the most popular sports in America. He can swear all he wants and be a dick head, he's a brilliant businessman and literally carries the weight of the sport on his back in the USA. What any of us posting on some internet forum think of him is of little concern to anything.

If he wasn't a millionaire MMA president, would I hang out with him? Hell no. I can't stand his personality. But he got the job done for the UFC. Still, I think his business tactics are crude and aren't built for the long term. He's the kind of guy that jumpstarts a business and provides all sorts of energy to get it off the ground. But he is also the kind that burns out rather fast. His persona gets stale. White is good for the UFC now, but I think in 5-10 years, they're going to wish they had someone else at the helm.

The question is now that the UFC have a monopoly on the sport will they protect certain fighters to protect their money invenstments.

Do you really want to see Liddell/Jardine.

    "What any of us posting......."

You can say that with anything. What any of us posting on a forum about ______ is little concern to anything. Just fill in the blank.

The point of my thread was whether him carrying the weight of MMA at this point is a good thing. Yeah he got the attention of america, but now that we are mainstream, should he continue using some of the same tactics, or due we need another spokeperson beside an arrogant rich business man who seems more concerned with short term money as opposed to the future of the sport.

Look at Tko's post after you. He brought up some great points and he gets the big picture.

To be honest i think Dana is everything that is bad about martial arts. His not a martial arts fan and doesnt have the pedigree. The repsect over in PRIDE was incredible in comparison between the fighters and the big guns that were running the show like Takada and Sakakibara. The UFC leaves a very stale taste in my mouth as TUF is nothing more than the usual car crash reality TV that doesnt produce much "REAL" talent in MMA and has been way overextended in its practical usefulness for the sport. If Dana wants a breeding ground for fighters why not do it properly like OVW does in wrestling? To have one man running the show and one man calling all the big shots is always a bad thing. And il always stand by what iv always said, UFC`s aquistion of PRIDE will be the demise of MMA.MMA doesnt need uneducated fans and it doesnt need the rabble and meatheads that routinely turn up for there cup of blood.Thats not what martial arts is about.

And yet, your original post all you talked about was how you find his persona distateful. You never mentioned the business model of the UFC and how it all fits together.

If you are fine with how he runs his business, why do you care about how he acts. Another thing that people do, is that they put way too much praise on Dana White. The Fertitta brothers are the sheriffs in town, we need to realize that. They built a billion dollar casion empire with a few thousand bucks. They recognize what Dana is and know his shortfalls, and when the time comes to move on to a more long term stable business startegy and not a growth plan, they will make the necessary changes and see Dana on his way as a rich man.

And Pride did the same thing with Japanese. Boxing promoters protect and nurture young talent against 20 some **** cans before they go big. It's just a part of promoting.

We weren't knee deep in the Japanses mainstream, so it just seems that way. Both Takada and Sakikibara were knee deep in organized crime, and almost weekly were embroiled in yakuza scandals on the evening news in Japan. The guy who's job Sakikibara took commited suicide just minutes after Sakikibara met him in a hotel room under strange circumstances. While they loved the sport, they certainly weren't the types you want managing it. They paid the price by running Pride into the ground when the scandals caught up to their lies and they lost the support of all their sponsors.

It kind of ties into together doesnt it. He is seen as the spokesperson for MMA and he doesnt come across well. Promotion, Public image etc.

His "distasteful persona" of talking **** to fighters like a hurt female looking for revenge shouldnt even take place in the first place.

And on to a totally different point. If he doesnt like the way Tito Ortiz is complaining about fighters low pay checks and how he (Dana) is not good for the sport then he should deal with it outside of the media like a man, not by taking pot shots at press conferences.

And onto your point about the Ferritas, thats debatable whether they will choose to keep him or not. I have a feeling they would only get rid of him if he brought to much negativity, even more then he has already done..

Takada was a pro wrestler who participated in worked matches against legends in the sport who happened to be down on there luck at the time (Mark Coleman) or who were just being introduced to the sport (CroCop) so spare me the revisionist history of Takada being some honorable benevolent leader. To say that Dana isn't a fan is absurd, why do you think he made the switch from boxing?

i think Dana White is the anti-christ, the Don King of MMA.
