Feelings on Dana White.

Too bad boxing didn't have someone like him to clean it up and make fights happen that should happen instead of corrupt promoters and ABC's. controlling it for their own greedy ways.

 

To be honest I think you have become dillusional since Pride has become nullified. you are completly bias and hold Dana responsible for your emotional trauma you have suffered. Try to open your mind and except the loss:smooch

 

And? Was this on the back of your mind when you was enjoying there shows? Was you mentioning this before PRIDES demise? The IBF had links to crime.Boxing as a whole had links to organised crime from the 20`s right up into the 80`s.Don King has been investigated time and again and proven to have links to crime.Did that make you any less of a fan? Realistically what happens behinds the scenes to us as the end viewer is wholly immaterial.PRIDE only got busted because of there size popularity and massive influence.

Despite this PRIDE was good for MMA they were the market leader and Dana knew this.The UFC is not.There whole act is too reminiscent of the Vale Tudo no holds barred days.

dana is supposed to be friends with the fighters, mistake no. 1 it's a business, the fighters are your employees and when it's time to move on, what will he do?

he also needs to grow up and stop taking potshots at people he doesn't like, he attacks reporters, fighters and fans both in public and on the internet, when he's in a position he is in, he doesn't need to respond, because he's lowering his level.

So, if a bunch of corrupt criminal frontmen for Yakuza gangs take the largest MMA organization in the world, run it into the ground after 5 years, but put on some good shows in the meantime, you see nothing wrong with that? It doesn't bother you? They killed what you loved. I think you really need to get over the fact that Pride failed. UFC won. Dana White and the Fertita brothers are 100 times the sucesses that Sakikibara and his diaper wearing crony were.

 

Yes PRIDE did fail that much is obvious but its success at the time was far greater than PRIDE at the time.Just because the UFC is the last man standing as they`ve profitted from PRIDES demise aswell as the WFA`s doesnt mean they`ve got it right.

 

The Yakuza didn't exactly run Pride into the ground, it was a newspaper reporter who made a claim of Prides ties with organized crime, through that FUJI tv freaked out and pulled Pride off the air, through that Pride lost its sponsers and as a result lost all its money.

The only response was to use PPV's. Which in Japan is unheard of as PPV's are not common and rarely ever used.(if at all)
Since there is not a culture of buying PPV's in Japan and people really don't buy them, then Pride was heading up **** creek.

It especially didn't help that at the time they were losing colossal amounts of money they started making the shows even more extravagent and expensive!
Even trying to brake into the American Market.
Not very smart when losing money.

Lets not forget that the Yakuza ties with Pride have never been proven with fact or evidence, just specualtion and unsubstantiated guesses from a journalist in a tabloid.

It was convincing enough for Fuji to pull one of its biggest moneymakers. Theres also the matter of Morishita's suicide, also never conclusively linked to organized crime, but the speculation was certainly there.

Pride, as we knew it, was going to go out of business one way or another after the Fuji deal was lost, so I really don't understand the anger at the company who bought it.

 

I agree, as soon as pride lost its TV deal it was over. Not to mention the owners or Pride showed no constraint when it came to money saving.

Even though the links to organized crime were never proven, i could not deny there was suspicious goings on and rumours.

It is quite surprising that Pride was sold to a non-Japanese company, i thought doing that sort of thing was a taboo in Japan.
I always assumed Pride would have been sold to K-1 and then be morphed into the k-1 format, the transition would have been far easier for everyone involved.

 

No, you are correct, I am too bold in passing it as true fact. But honestly, everybody knows that it is true. Enson Inoue was/is a Yakuza member and openly says that Takada and Sakikibara are both so deep in organized crime that most Yakuza don't trust them. It would take more than a pure rumor to get FujiTV to kill it's biggest moneymaker, they had to have their own suspicions beforehand.

 

Because he failed miserably as a Boxing promoter.

 

Which is why he had the money to invest in MMA.:huh
