The movement should mimic that of the real punch as much as possible, without over commiting. That seems obvious but it is a key aspect of the feint. Most people you'll notice still move differently when feinting compared to when actually punching.

my favorite is feinting a jab and coming over with a straight right or going low with a hook or uppercut. you're probably best off learning to feint a jab well before moving on to anything else. ask your coach or other people at the gym because they can actually show you how to move n stuff and you really need that more than words.

I think feinting the right after a jab is the easiest to do. Your jab gets them distracted and the react more to the right feint, then I go in with a left hook/uppercut. This works for me at least:)

If they're good at deflecting your jab, feinting a jab can sometimes open them up for the real one you throw directly afterwards.

Sometimes, I'll jab to the body once or twice, then feint doing so again only to go upstairs.

I usually don't throw many feints, it's just not something i usually do. But when I do its usually against a tough sparring partner, so I feint then jab, to set up an effective combination of hooks and uppercuts :good

Jab feints should be workin all the time when u arent throwing. Movin head n shoulders. quick step the left foot feint (orthodox). a jerk forward with the jab shoulder. dip down as if ur gonna jab to the body. Right handed feints work better for someone who keeps circling you in the same direction or is on the retreat n you want an opening

Try watching Leonard-Hearns I. Hearns used feints in the early rounds and it did a great job keeping Leonard outside and off balance. I think a taller fighter who feints with the jab correctly has a great advantage over a shorter guy.
