Being knocked to the canvas twice by a guy with 4 KOs doesn't bode well for the future. Looks like he might be packing glass.
Madiev hits harder than his record suggests bc he doesnt follow up on shots, like danny garcia just lands big and stares. The first kd was cash out of place but he still got hurt and the 2nd was flash as he was back peddling
Certainly looks vulnerable. Shame because he's a good mover with nice jab and decent variety. But based on tonight he'll cetrainly struggle to get to world level.
Fury was dropped by Cunningham, people were questioning his chin. Cash didn't seem too badly hurt from either knock down. If he continues hitting the canvas every fight from now, or he gets knocked out cold I might change my mind. The Russian guy seemed to have faced mostly decent opposition, and in that case KOs are harder to come by. What I'm saying is that records don't always indicate power. Some guys just having trouble landing or don't cherry pick faded journeymen and terrible opponents to pump up their wins/KOs.
The difference being that Fury was physically immature and fighting dozens of pounds below his eventual fighting weight. Cash is defiantly going to have to start doing neck push-ups and chewing the mastic gum.
Cash's resistance is questionable. He appears to be a good boxer with solid skills but will not advance too far up the ladder if he cannot take a big league hit, and the Russian dude was not big league.
It's not so much about chin as it is about defense. That first knockdown was because he was looping the right hand from a low angle and getting countered with left hooks. Most folks are going to get knockdown if they are caught that cleanly by a counter left hook. I think Cash is still a young fighter that looked good when he was working behind his jab but everytime he opened up with a combination he was vulnerable because of his hand placement. I remember Tito Trinidad would do the same thing early in his career and would get knocked alot. Folks would always talk about his chin because he would get knockdown a lot but the reality was he was only stopped once against a much bigger Hopkins and that was because of an accumulation of punches. Cash will learn and get better from this fight.
We'll see about that. My guess is that he's gonna get laid out cold once he fights a higher level of fighter.
I won't rule out the possibility of him being cursed with below average punch resistance (albeit that is something which would be highly unusual for a Brit Level fighter) but I'm going to cut him some slack for the time being for these two reasons Also, he could've and most fighters would've opted to take on a lesser opponent than Madiev for their first fight back after experiencing such a tough year, but he jumped right back in against an unbeaten prospect who was ranked #3 by the WBA which to be perfectly honest I thought was unnecessarily risky
