Everybody knows who the TRUE MASTER of PLASTER is!!! i dont even have to mention his name...Quit hating on Tito!!!
Wrong, they were also putting tape directly over the knuckles which isn't in accordance with the rules anywhere. "TiDon Felix began to rewrap the hand again, but Richardson noticed that Don Felix was putting layers of tape and then gauze, tape and then gauze, tape and then gauze which is not in accordance with NYSAC rules. The rules stipulate tape cannot be applied directly over the knuckles, and that repeating the process several times (is not permitted). In an interview with Bernard Fernandez of Philly.com, Hopkins said, "If you put on tape, then gauze, then tape, then gauze, it's like a [plaster] cast. It's like being hit with a baseball bat. I'm giving out some secrets here, but you can dip your hands in ice water and that tape will, like, marinate and become harder. But it's only cheating if you get caught. Personally, I think Vargas' and Reid's people dropped the ball. Naazim did a brilliant job in spotting what [Felix Trinidad Sr.] was doing with the wraps." Don Felix was also putting tape on the skin and over the knuckles, both of which are not in accordance with NYSAC rules. New York's head commissioner put his foot down and made Don Felix wrap in strict accordance to the rules. " Just check out the recording of the Joppy fight. When that left hand lands, that's not the sound of a leather and padding covered human hand making contact. It sounds more like a gavel banging against wood. Anyone that thinks that he didn't have "loaded gloves" after hearing that sound is in denial.
There's a very recent interview in b-talk.com with Brother Nazeem Richardson. He's asked about the Trinidad handwrap situation and he says he was wrapping illegaly according to the rules in NY, but that it was legal in other states. There is a big difference between a technicality in being wrong and trying to cheat. We have relaible information in page 2 fo this very same thread with people who don't need, and don't gain anything from defending Trinidad, and just share what's allowed and what's not in handwrapping in boxing and wether or not it gives you an advantage. The quote people bring up with Papa Trinidad is true, but the wraps gave Trinidad a bigger pop in comparison to the pillows he was made wrap for Trinidad that night. It wasn't until after the fight that he was told he didn't have to wrap Tito's hands the way they made him do it.
They hand wrapped his hands in a way that was illegal under the New York commission...why shouldn't he be considered a cheater? Im surprised he has not been discredited more than he has. This explains his great power. Trinidad did something no better than what Margarito did. And yeah everybody knows Oscar beat him.
Always a problem getting to the truth when a Hopkins team member is involved in explaining it. If we are to believe Nazim Richardson for example, he claimed plaster blocks fell out of Margarito's handwraps. The same fighter he worked the corner for that night said the knucklepads felt normal to him. Hopkins team member are always sure to exaggerate which takes away from the real truth of the matter.
EXACTLY! BOTH Pacquiao AND MArgarito wrapped their hands this way when they fought each other. NONE of them displayed TITO power. Tito is a natural banger and anyone trying to dismiss his god given power is a hater. Dude is retired and STILL the mongolians wanna try and discredit his might. haters.... :hi:
rules on wrapping hands differ from state to state and country. what tito was accused of is called stacking. it's where tape is first applied to skin...then gauze....then tape. you would be surprised to know how easily the rules are misinterpreted by people who have been in boxing for a very long time. i don't believe trinidads wraps were loaded. pointing to reid after the trinidad fight is really not any indication at all. people have selective memory. go back and check reids fight with kevin kelly. he was rocked several times in that fight and was even dropped. he won...but imo, that was the beginning of the end and he had been softed up. the mullings fight was an easy win because mulling had just come off a tough fight with javier castillejo. trinidad was a great puncher...but make no mistake about it...he benefitted from great match making just like all fighters who make it to the highest levels.
Bull**** mayweather does the same thing. It's ILLEGAL. Trinidads even admitted Tito had more power with it! There is handwraps and then there is plaster. Next we will be saying Marg didn't cheat eitheratsch
