Granados is doubling his jab and pouring in right hands. Granados is forcing Diaz to halt and s**** with him. Diaz is obliging, landing some right hooks cleanly but looking to get away. Granados is keeping those jabs dribbling in and putting everything into his right, still touching up the body a bit. HUGE right hook counter on the button from Diaz, and Granados is down, saved by the bell in a round he was previously winning.

Granados is now uncharacteristically drifting backward, into the ropes as Diaz bores in and places his face on Granados' stomach, working the body diligently and then pushing off to hook into Granados' face. Granados tries bashing free with a left hook sinking back into the ropes but can't muster enough. HUGE right hook by Diaz jumping in, just above the ear, and Granados bounces his knees and one glove off the canvas as Diaz bounds away. Given a count. Granados is circling to his right, staying by the ropes. Diaz is pressing, working the right jab into the guard. Big leaping right hooks by Diaz, too wide. They brawl at the bell! Granados eats a big left!

Through six, Granados made Diaz look very ordinary for a gold medalist...but he ran low on gas down the stretch (which accounts for the knockdowns more than anything to do with his chin or Diaz's power, IMO)
