Felix Sturm is very underrated, and deserves more respect!!!!

He fought better opposition in his last fights than Pavlik and Abraham combined. Like him or not (and I really don´t) but he is by far not as bad as some here say.

He is protected over there. He does not have to fight top opposition. The fights are riskless because it is hard to win a fight on points in Germany. And he gets well paid.

 

thats exactly how i feel, hes the reason other euro champs are ripped a lot on this forum.

 

Sturmn WAS pretty good at 147...(or whereever the ODLH fight was - cant remember and cant be bothered looking).

Fact is (and we all know this)... Sturm is a weak beltholder.

 

If Sturm fight Pavlik, he will get beat, but at least it's a better matchup than godamn Lockett or Rubio.

Right, he is a paper champ, gets gift decisions in his home country and fights nobodies for very good money.He did want no part of AA.

The Sturm - Griffith fight was one of the worst decisions I have witnessed. Griffith beat him with everything except the ring stool and still could only get a draw, much worse than the Grevor fight, a disgrace.

He still lives from his fight against an out of shape DH about 6 years ago!

 

Pavlik fought Hopkins last October. Hopkins is better than all opponents Sturm ever fought combined. :yep

I agree and dislike that Abraham had two easy opponents this year but last year he fought Ayala, Miranda( in the US) and Marquez


Sturm finally fought two good opponents ( Sylvester and Gevor) and one ridiculous opponent in Soto

Another difference is that Abraham clearly won his last 8 fights and
Sturm had 2 close fights (first Griffin fight , Castillejo) and a robbery (Gevor) out of his last 8 fights.

Abraham will fight in one of boxing biggest event's vs guys like Taylor, Dirrell, Froch and Kessler this autumn while Sturm will try to avoid mandatorys vs Mundine and Golovkin and will end up fighting unknown guys like Avtandil Khurtsidze or Martirosyan

 

The first Griffin fight was a complete robbery, much worse than the Grevor.Nearly impossible to win on points in Germany, very corrupt. Sturm is a paper champ, he is protected over there.

That's for sure. Sturm is more quality then Lockett or Rubio.
