It won´t happen but it could be a smart move legacy wise...
In the short run AA would lose a lot of money obviously, but if he would defeat Sturm clearly for nothing he would earn a ton of respect. It would show that he´s all about legacy, about unifying the titles and that he walks the walk.

BTW was there ever a champion who fought for nothing so he could unify the titles? Even if, it would be an great move by Arthur...

I think you're absolutely right about it not happening, but I wasn't joking when I said that. That would be a move that represents everything great about this sport, being willing to come out and fight just for pride and the sake of competition. Frankly I don't really care for AA or his style, but if he did this I am on board forever.

And I don't know if anyone has ever fought for a title for nothing. Maybe in a winner-take-all kind of deal...

As much as I want to say AA will ruin Sturm, I don't think it will happen..This will be a very close fight!!!!!!!!!!! Lets match em up stylistically:

Sturm has superior boxing technique and is very intelligent...

AA has incredible power and defense but he is lazy, very lazy....

Honestly folks this is a fight that is closer than many of you think!! Its natural to pick AA by KO but Sturm is no Marquez or Ayala!!

I'm picking Sturm to win this fight..AA will need a prayer in order to win

The point is that AA can KO Sturm but the chance that Sturm ko's AA is very unlikely.
This fight is about wether Sturm can keep AA off him for twelve rounds, keep his composure, and don't make any (defensive) mistakes.
But AA knows that Sturm has very little power so he will walk through his punches I think.

In the end no-one knows how this will turn out. But one thing is for sure: it's a very interesting fight.

Interesting fight for sure...The reason I'm going against my gut here is that AA is very lazy and usually has to make up rounds late...Sturm is a supreme boxer and I feel will keep AA at bay for most of the fight... AA will have to work hard to win this fight, which I don't believe is in his programming.

I can see Sturm easliy outpointing AA

Well, they get no extra cash. Thing is, if Abraham does not do what he said he would the fight won´t happen because there´s not enough money.

That´s what I think would happen. Sturm boxing AA out for most of the fight, is wide ahead and get´s cought with a hard punch in the 11th and goes down. I can see both win, Abraham is the favourite though.

No one fights for nothing, especially Abraham who must make a small fortune defending his belt on German TV.

By accepting the "fight for free" offer, this is Sturm's way of turning the fight down.

As I told ya in my thread "you say...", many of you believe that AA has poor footwork but in the end, how could it be poor if he was only hit by like 4-5 big shots by Miranda in their first fight?
Plus he positions his opposition for the KO and has great ring generalship (I think, he has more ring intelligence than Sturm).

Trust me, he isn't that flat footed and will even try to beat Sturm on his own game...

 So, Abraham offers to fight him for free in front of some millions watchers and when Sturm takes the offer but Abraham rejects because he get´s no money it´s Sturm´s fault. You are a comedian :rofl

You seem like a big fan of him and imo that's a little notable in your partly biased opinion (no offense though!).

AA just isn't a boxer like Sturm, he's a puncher and just can't fight like Sturm (or any other boxer).
And just like someone else said in this thread: ''AA is a very very lazy fighter.''
AA got hit only a few times in his fight against Miranda is because he has a rock solid double guard. Not because he moves so well.
His ring intelligence might be underrated, but to go as far to say that it's better than Sturm's... I don't know.

    Gruße aus die Niederlande.

    Yeah, greetings from Germany :hi:

Please lean back and watch the first fight with Miranda. After the 6th round, Abraham nearly fought the rest of the fight without any guard, but was bobing and waving to get out of Miranda's big shots, a lot lateral movement...just watch!

Abraham's mentality inside the ring reminds me of Aaron Pryor's "take no prisioners"...
