how in the hell this sturm lost twice to sam soliman? he's putting a clinic here. it's not a class but a few of them above stieglitz who's still giving his best (and punching mostly air).
Round 7 Stieglitz is doubling his jab and following predictably with the hurdling right. Sturm is edging his way around Stieglitz, keeping his stance and guard tight, picking his spots with sharp left jabs. Sturm is jabbing Stieglitz in the forehead at long range, holding him out. Stieglitz rushes in and flutters a few jabs at Sturm's hairline. 1-2-1-2 by Stieglitz, all blocked. Left hook on the body by Stieglitz. Right hand curled around the top by Stieglitz, pulling Sturm into a brief clinch. Right hand by Sturm, chasing Stieglitz back. Left hook jumping up by Stieglitz, missing. 10-9 Sturm 69-64 Sturm
if sturm culd punch a bit, it would have been over by now. stieglitz a bit better in the eigth, but how to give him a round when he's looking lie a beginner here?
Round 8 Stieglitz is digging left hooks into Sturm's face, pushing off when he tries clinching. Stieglitz is backed off by a series of left upper-hooks. They push together, engaging in a little test of strength. Both step back. Stieglitz jabs in. Chopping right hand counter by Sturm as Stieglitz gores him into the ropes. Stieglitz is sticking his jab in the cookie jar, backing Sturm into the ropes without landing anything. Clapping right by Stieglitz, blocked. Counter left hook on the outside by Sturm while turning Stieglitz. Swatting right hand by Sturm, ducked. Lead right by Stieglitz falling in. Long jab by Stieglitz. Left hook on the body by Stieglitz, scraping as he eats a short 1-2. BIG left hook leaping in by Stieglitz, doubled up. Sturm collects it on his upheld right arm. 10-9 Sturm, close 79-73 Sturm
I'd love to know. Maybe someone from Gwrmany or who speaks/reads German might come up with an explanation for Sturms awful slump in form in the Soliman rematch?
