    Julio would have lumps and bruises all over his face halfway through, and would crawl back to his stool begging "Freddie PLEASE! :| How do I neutralize the jab??" - to which Roach will say ":conf Sorry, never figured that out for myself or anyone in my stable..."

    :lol::lol:

    Nice but still, Sturm lets people on the inside too much and Chavez is a very good in fighter, hell that is is forte, that is when his size, activity, and commitment to the body gets Sturm. IMHO.

    It ended almost half an hour ago.

    Zbik was busier in the first couple of rounds (and won one of them on my card), but then got his face jabbed in for several in a row before quitting on his stool before the 10th. :good

    Sturm isn't a terrific infighter offensively, but he's got some real subtle defensive skills up close - able to duck and weave very fast, arch his neck without taking his eyes off the opponent, twist his hips to deflect body shots, etc. :good

    Some of that was on display tonight when Zbik jumped in and tried to swarm him. (although obviously Chavez would be throwing and landing much heavier body shots)

    It already happened. Sturm forced a corner stoppage by essentially doing this all night:

    Sturm is a born counter puncher! The guy is very fast and very sneaky. I like how he stays in the face, punching distance, and makes people miss. I like the young version who could go on the bike and you wouldn't see him most of the time.

    I would be an interesting fight with Julio, only because Chavez would come inside and get his chances as Sturm is nowhere mobile as he was in his young years.

    I thought Sturm slipped badly in the last two fights (just for the record, I had him win both times, if only barely) but this was vintage Sturm performance - as active and as mobile as he ever been in the last 5-6 years.

    Thanks for the RBR! It was exactly the way I saw it...for some reason the German commentators kept saying how close it was, even repeating it just before the corner threw the towel. Really strange, as if they watched completely different fight!

    Sturm's power is underrated. He really improved in that department. Even if he's not a KO puncher by any means - his jab is accurate, fast and strong and does enough damage to his opponents to make them look ugly. He's not as featherfisted as most people think...

    Agree. I've kept a close eye on Sturm in recent years and it seems he drags people in to his kind of fight.

    Most fighters seem to be forgetting lateral movemment v Sturm. Sturm is happy sitting behind his high guard and jab, or to take a shot or two, to get his shots off. Sturm is difficult to break down but exchanging and boxing at Sturm tempo is never a good idea.

    Martinez is the guy to beat Sturm IMO. His movement and awkwardness would confuse Sturm for 12 rounds.
