I guess at all the press conferences Sturm and Zbik have talked major **** to each other, and questioned each other's manhood - but it never got physical.

    All talk.

Zbik called Sturm a paper champ who was scared of a challenge, and Sturm said Zbik was a nobody who became a "Mickey Mouse title holder" by winning an interim belt and beating absolutely nobody in the process.

Still no clue how the bad blood originated, though - since obviously the event would have been named "Bad Blood" already before any of the pressers for it...

    Who? :huh

Sturm just fought two of the best three middleweights from the UK before this.

Do you mean Boytsov? Because Ding and now Guinn are a big step up from what he was in with in 2010 and 2011...

    No worries. :good

I think the mods can actually merge your pic posts from your newer thread into this one, rather than deleting them.

I think I read that they actually used to be friends, when they were under the same promotional company. Zbik feels that Sturm was trying to steal his thunder, or something like that.

And then a few months ago, when Zbik-Proksa was sent to a Purse bid, Sturm won it. Probably to **** Sebastian off.

    You don't want it.

Boytsov manages to be a good HW contender in spite of his physique, not because of it.

You want that much muscle, you're begging to be slow. Look at Briggs, and Ding.

I'm starting to really think that - contrary to pretty much all of our initial assumptions upon first hearing about this match-up - this could develop into a really fun fight if they do have genuine loathing for one another.

Sturm can certainly be in boring chess matches when allowed to fall into cruise control with his jab - but his last two defenses against the Brits were fun.

Zbik has a style that's generally not too pleasant on the eyes and has been involved in some of the most boring spectacles in boxing history (Spada I and II :dead - and the blame doesn't rest squarely on Spada's shoulders...) - but obviously the loss to Chavez was a different story.

They're both capable of being entertaining with the right opponent. With bragging rights as #1 in Deutscheland on the line - and personal animosity to boot - they could just be the "right opponents" for a special combustible chemistry here...

Let's see some blood! :bbb :!:

IMO, Boystov will be the first to stop Guinn.

Yeah, wondering whether he can do it is pretty much the one thing lending the undercard any suspense whatsoever.

On the other end of the spectrum, some people are actually tipping the upset. Now THAT would be dramatic..

It's called Bad Blood because they hate each other.
They always talk **** about each other in german media, they had problems and discussions in the past, when both where at Universum. They even swapped trainers, Sturm has Sdunek, who has been Zbiks trainer before. Zbik said that Sturm was an ******* back then, Sturm always wanted special treatment etc.
There is a lot of tension between those two and their teams and families.
