Such a strange state of affairs. In a normal world, Sturm should be fighting Golovkin for the WBA crown.
Sturm wants nothing of him. ****ing hate Sturm. He gets away with murder. He's had about 7 voluntary defences in a row. He'll probably get another gift decision against Geale.
N'Kijam was the interim champion for quite a while too. Neither he nor Sturm have shown any desire in fighting Golovkin and the WBA have been happy to bleed sanctioning fees from all three. N'Kijam's avoidance of GGG has been particularly embarrassing.
Sturm is fine in his country making good money and now he's fighting with No. 2 MW Daniel Geale (IBF title holder), so why travel ? I'm agree that Macklin should've won that fight against Sturm but what can u do ?! :-( Probably Golovkin won't have the chance to fight for a major belt because he's very, very dangerous. That's sad and it's what makes boxing to decline but business is business .
Not often i think a boxer is a genuine coward but that is exactly what i think Sturm is, if he has no intention of fighting Golovkin then he should be stripped. Rarely do you come accross boxers even in todays game that are so reluctant to push themselves or face top opposition. Dont get me wrong the Geale fight isnt bad but their are far more dangerous matchups out there. As far as im concerned the day Sturm loses and ****s off, not one person will be disapointed.
Hey Montero, I remember we all ranked the organizations in a thread a while back and you had similar ones to me, if I recall rightly. What do you think of the IBF and Peterson though?
the WBA invented this super champ crap because of this fight, to put it off....but later said it would only force the 2 best to eventually fight....i think it has been 2 years now since GG has won the vacant title while sturm fights ronald hearns type guys...SUPER!
