$2.000.000? Well, you are probably right in saying that it isnt a worthy sum of money for a clash between Sturm and Pavlik. But that wasnt my point, booradley! I was just wondering whether Sturm or Pavlik could sell out an arena with 60.000 seats. I am not really sure about Pavlik, but Sturm isnt such a huge draw in Germany. I may be wrong of course!
Sturm is a fine fighter. Unification fights should almost never be discouraged, in my opinion. It'd be an interesting and worthy match-up.
I totally disagree. Timm is a decent trainer, Sturm improved under him. The fights became closer because Sturm fought better fighters. You can't fight like an amateur in the pro ranks with the hit and run syle. Under Timm, Sturm learnt how to sit down on his punches. Sturm gets way too much credit for being competitive with an overweight, out of shape DH. Keep in mind Sturm was beaten up by Griifith in the first fight, yet he got a draw.
I'm from Germany. I doubt any boxing event except for a Klitschko fight would sell out a 60.000 arena. Neither Sturm nor Abraham would pull that off. Concerning Felix Sturm I saw a presser some weeks ago. It said the same stuff as the thread starter: Roach was asked. Right now, Roach has his hands full with training Manny Pacquiao. No time for Felix, I guess. Further, the legal dispute with Kohl is not finished. There will be hearing in court, but there still is no set date. To be honest I thought Sturm was gonna start making some real noise after the Delahoya fight. He fought so well and many people thought he won (including me). Maybe with Roach he'll start to really reach his potential. These days it seems like no fighter can go wrong with Roach.
