He knows Cotto is a threat to take that PR crown from him of the last 20 yrs. because if Cotto wins hulkamania, he will considered the greatest fighter out of Puerto Rico and Trinidad knows it. He definetly knows Cotto is better than JuanMa.

Cotto was the better boxer but NOT the better FIGHTER. Trinidad went 40-0 cleaned out 2 divisions and wiped out SOLID competition in destructive fashion. Cotto's resume is not on Tito's level, theres no point for your original statements. Tito is showing support to Cotto and hes calling it how it is. Pointing on Trinidad's own technical skills is irrelevant, and trumps Cotto's career in the long run in both resume and in the ways Tito won.

He won't have a better resume than Cotto by the time Cotto retires.

I can't predict when my hopes are with one fighter very strongly. I can only outline what I believe is possible, and hope for that outcome to pass. I believe Cotto can defeat Floyd Mayweather. I guess my answer will have to be 50/50.

I would rather hear a fighters opinion who can speak really intelligent about boxing..? and actually seems like he studies the sport. Felix Trinidad seems abit of a ****** to me, and has stated some very basic over used points. I enjoy reading peoples opinions and theories more on this general forum.......

note: Seen the full interview Trinidad made some good points, ones i agree with. Before..? I had only seen the ******ed sounding opening post.

I think it will be a good fight but Cotto has spent all his life being slower than Mayweather that isn't going to change in 8 weeks.

He need a different strategy to that imo.

Not that I disagree with Trinidad having the better resume, but how does that prove anything? Cotto's not a middleweight, he's never fought at middleweight, and he has never fought a career middleweight...

I guess I take responsibility for the first post  Thnx again to Bogotazo for helping with the interview translation :bbb

Many people tried to analyse this big fight but it's no use. Coto has no chance to beat Mayweather because his punches can't hit the target. Floyd is faster than Cotto. End of the story.

Trinidad was a great technician with good fundamentals, he was just never a counter puncher fighter which people always think of when thinking of technical fighters. All three of tito's losses came at the end of his career, like all fighters i think he lost the hunger and drive. Boxing is a sport where mental toughness and heart has a lot to do with success and sometimes a lot more then physical attributes.
