Vargas & Mayorga- Tito leftovers Gatti - didn't belong NO WHERE near 147lbs (and yeah, Floyd gets NO credit for his win over Gatti either) Ruelas, Hernandez, and Chavez - all smaller fighters... What the **** has Oscar done in the past few years besides beating Tito leftovers, oh I got it he won the Middleweight title beating Felix Sturm, lol:roll:
U don't even believe that statement...........You know Fernando got dropped the 1st time he was hit flush after the Tito fight.... That's why Oscar "FINALLY" decided to fight him Once again, let me knock you down 5 times, hit you in the nuts a couple of time, take you "0" and totally **** up your psyche..... Dude, I like DLH, but you gotta admit he's very "opportunistic.." It's like he's seeing these guys get "bludgeoned" and then says, "you know what, I think I'll fight this guy now." career high payday for the fighter, looks good on my resume and most importantly, MY DUMB ASS FANS WILL BUY IT HOOK, LINE, AND SINKER:rofl
Seriously, What is the lightest Trinidad can effectivly get down to? His punch does not carry in Middleweight & certianly not LightHeavyweight. If he can make LightMiddleweight, that would be a great weight for him. & possibly lure Cotto up for a Megafight in MSG!
Bro pay more attention everyones always like Mayweather was so awesome vs Gatti blah blah atleast Oscar beat that ass badly before Floyd did then Baldomir did then Gomez did. Vargas and Mayorga had fought Tito ok so why cant anybody else fight them ? They had World Championship titles and Oscar fought them and beat them just as impressivly at Tito did. Smaller fighters true but there was a time when Tito was cutting down to 147 and beating up smaller guys. Oscar took on elite Lightweights like Paez,Ruleas,Leija and stopped all 3 in 2 rounds no matter what thats impressive. Wasnt DLH coming up in weight vs Chavez and noboddy ever beat that man like DLH did. Your right all Oscars did in the last few years win wise is beat up Mayorga and thats all Titos did as well. Atleast when Oscar took on a big challenge Hopkins or Mayweather he wasnt shutup and embarresed. Im ending this argument now cause its pointless both are great fighters and im not a Tito hater im just full of enegery today so im bringing up his handwraps and low blows and **** for fun :good
Your right Oscar is opportunistic for sure look at when he went after Shane for a rematch when it looked best for DLH,tried to catch Hopkins when he was 40. Regardless though he still fights the best out there.
To bad, Tito vs Mosley never took place. Tito most definately would have gotten in that ass like a wedgie.
Agreed hed be on his knees soo much with his hands all over Mosleys ass trying to stay standing :good
As a fan of both fighters it sucks you guys are turning this into a Tito vs DLH thread as all threads on Tito eventually go. Hell, give DLH credit for not just surviving but practically beating(depending on how you look at it) the P4P hardest hitter of his era in his natural division. DLH too was a monster puncher but different from Tito. DLH's left relied on timing and he sat on it a bit more than Tito did. DLH knocked Mayorga down in first round because Mayorga was open for a perfect left hook at the right moment. Had Tito had the oppurtunity he would have done same thing. Conversely Tito knocked Vargas down within seconds of the opening bell, something DLH couldn't do. Vargas was a champ who gave both guys a hell of a fight. He wasn't shot against DLH. Vargas' downfall wasn't that he was ruined, it was that he failed to defend himself against Dlh's and Tito's money punch, a terrible mistake probably attributed to how green he was in the ring. As to the poster saying what has DLH done recently the same can be said against Tito.
Sure DLH may need good timing for his lefthook by Oscar can do it from any angle while Tito almost always has to set his feet to land a effective lefthook. Both are great punchers and finishers honestly I cant pick whos the better puncher but for some reason everyone assumes its Tito maybe because he doesnt box guys as much as DLH does.
Tito's right hand and uppercuts were very good too and underrated. Dlh's body combinations are amazing to watch and also underrated. DLH was better at evasiveness and had a better snap to the jab. Overall, they were about equal in knock out potential but I think Tito had a harder punch because he hits his opponent with anything and the guy will wobble. I'm talking prime Tito and Oscar, of course.
i like everyone here at ESB says they have been watching boxing since the 60's or later. so what if i started in 01 ive watched so many fights from the past 40 years anyway. what difference does it make
not really. vargas should have never even fought him at that time and tito STILL NEEDED to punch vargas low to stem the tide that was in vargas's favor
being a vargas fan doesnt mean i make excuses for him. thats not my job. you make it sound like im a damn klitschko cheerleader. even when i saw that fight the first time i said wow i like how tito had to resort to dirty tactics (low blows) to stop vargas from doing damage. if you think those were not blatant then you need to open your eyes. even if titos wraps were legal, his low blows in the vargas fight were not
