Have you seen the fight? Hopkins-Joppy was a complete massacre, a brutal beating, and IMO the last fight where Hopkins was still in his true prime. Joppy didn't fight for over a year afterwards.

Look at his face after the fight, it was completelly swollen, bruised, and puffed up, you could barely recognize him.

Joppy, whatever his shortcomings, was tough. He took every punch in the book from Hopkins and went 12, everything Taylor could throw and went 12, and just recently when he's totally shot he went 10 rounds with Lucian Bute at SMW. Trinidad obliterated him in his prime in 5 rounds. He also easily blew away Hacine Cherifi in 4.

That Trinidad of the early 2000's before his first retirement would beat Pavlik most likely. Pavlik is a puncher and Trinidad isn't great defensively, but neither is Pavlik and chances are Trinidad's much superior speed, more precise punching, and slightly better technical skills mean he gets to Pavlik before Kelly gets to him.

I would have replied before, but I was gone. Joppy is not a bad example at all. He got hit flush by Trinidad and he got hit flush by Hopkins at 160. I don't know who the stronger puncher is above 160 since Trinidad doesn't fill the weight good and Hopkins does. But at 160 lbs I don't think there is any question at all that Trinidad had a harder punch than Hopkins. So again I say, just ask Joppy who packed a harder punch. If you re watch the Hopkins/Joppy fight you'll see that Hopkins definitely put his weight behind his punches and landed at full power.

Wow... people are not seeing reality if they think Trinidad beats Pavlik let ALONE by stoppage... Trinidad will be right in front of Pavlik all night and it wont be long till he gets stopped, this is an EASY fight to call folks, two differant size men in there, with Tito having nothing to offset pavlik... its going to be two guys going right at eachother throwing their typical power punches... and ill take the bigger guy with longer reach better chin and more power.

    Pavlik 6th round stoppage.

Either way this would be an epic Trinidad-Vargas style brawl.

I said prior to the Hopkins fight that I'd favor Tito over Pavlik, and by knockout. Pavlik hasn't done a whole lot since to change my opinion.

How exactly do you come to the conclusion that Trinidad has nothing to offset Pavlik with or that Pavlik even has more power? Both men are equally capable of hurting the other if they are to land flush, but I'll take Tito's combinations and left hook over Pavlik's jab and straight right, considering neither fighter is a technical wizard and this fight will likely be fought within close to mid range.

You're the one clearly out of reality if you overrate Pavlik to that degree, or just underrate Tito.

Thats why im saying Pavlik is very overrated here, he had done nothing to be claimed that way, Tito by ko, you need to be a master boxer to beat tito and Pavlik is a poior man Trinidad only that Pavlik is bigger, no more.

Pavlik was tailor made for Tito who was a big puncher at middleweight. Trindidad has also much better technique and boxing skills over all.

To beat Tito, you better move and jab. Pavlik does not have the ability to execute such a plan. He will come right at Tito and that is where Tito is at his best.

This would be a damn good fight with lots of inside fighting, because of that I favor Trinidad by knock out just cuz everyone that tryed that approach failed miserably. Hoya showed how to do it, Hopkins actually did it, and Pavlik can't box like that. I think Pavlik and Tito have similar straight right hands but its the additional left hook that gives it to Tito.

"With one fist of iron and the other of steel if the right one don't get you then the left one will."
